Life Stuff.

Whew!  That's all I can say at this point!  Life has been a complete whirlwind these past few months and I feel like I can finally start to breathe again .... now that the holidays are upon us.  Oh, the irony of my life sometimes.  Ha!  So, things aren't going to slow down anytime soon, but God is working wonderful plans in our lives and I can't wait to share details with y'all soon.  But for now, I just wanted to update you on the regular aspects of life and thank those of you who have kept (and are keeping!) us in your prayers.  You guys mean the world to me!

* Ever since our trip to Branson I have been in the holiday spirit!  Husby will be gone a good hunk of December (insert sad face), so the tree is going up this week so he at least has some time to enjoy it at home with us.  I'm celebrating THANKSMAS this year ... or maybe CHRISTGIVING is a better word, and combining them into one big joyous holiday season.  Who says we can't have golden ornaments hanging amongst the pinecones and acorns?  :)

(But really, I'm ready to retire the autumn orange and not resurrect it for another year.)

* Since the Christmas bug has bitten me, imagine my joy to get a night out with two of my favorite ladies, my mom and sister-in-law, to see none other than the stage production of White Christmas.  It was wonderful!

(Note: Levi just walked by as I inserted this image and he said, "Oh!  It looks like you have 3 heads!" So, that's always nice.)

We had a fabulous dinner out and then hit the show while the husbands took care of the babes. (Husby flew in just a few hours earlier, so after 3 days and nights of single-momming it, I was so ready for a little break! Perfect timing.  Um, except he was supposed to be in the night before but air travel never pans out how it's supposed to!)  But anyway! We got to have a fun evening out and even ended up totally coordinating outfits without even planning it.  Great minds think alike, my friends.  They just do.  ;)

* Have I told y'all that Husby's been gone a lot lately?  BECAUSE HE HAS!!!!!!!!
Anyway, he is a Super Dad in every aspect of the word and when he is home, he makes the most of the time he has with the boys.  I will forever admire that about him.  He and Levi had a Backyard Campout the other night and I am telling you, it was the highlight of Levi's life.  They had a blast!

We roasted hotdogs and s'mores as a family and then Levi and Husby did their thing while Ezra and I came inside and did ours.  It ended up getting down to 28 degrees that night and they slept in there the entire night!  I called Darin at about 4am after I woke up cold (in my warm bed) and asked him to come inside (I was partly concerned for their health, partly concerned someone was going to kidnap them).  He said they didn't want to.  They're cray-cray.  But they had a blast.

And Ezra has become super attached and won't let his Daddy out of his sight.  Even to sleep.  :)

Oh, his hair is just my favorite thing in life.  Really and truly.

* My taste buds have changed drastically over the past few years.  For instance, I used to hate pickles on my hamburgers.  Now I must have them.  Also, I used to hate baked potatoes and now I crave them all the time.  With lots of butter and salt.  See?  Drastic changes, guys.  Drastic.

:)

Have a happy day!

  3. I LOVE that picture of D and Ezra! Toddler curls are the best....
Sorry you're having to do so much time alone, hopefully you're able to at least take advantage of getting to do everything you want to do. :)
And I think you better get a trademark for Christgiving- it's got a real ring to it!
