Yucka.

I went to work this morning and only lasted until 10:30. The fever came back with a vengence and I could barely keep my eyes open. I took that as a sign I should go home. So I did.

And.... I crashed on the couch for FOUR hours. I missed 3 calls and 4 texts even though my phone was right by my head. I am tellin' ya - I was out. It was so easy to drift off into sleepy town because it is storming and raining here and my wind chime was dancing all around.

It was a wonderful time of rest.

Then I woke up and watched entirely too many episodes of "Bringing Home Baby" and "Take Home Chef". Ah, I love those shows. Husby came home a few minutes ago while I was watching an episode of "30 Minute Meals" which just so happened to be "sick day food", and she whipped up a delicious looking homemade soup. I feel like she did it just for me. She even ended the show waving at the camera and saying, "I'm sorry if you're sick today - feel better!" She must be watching me.

I hinted around that the soup sounded amazing, and as we speak, husby is in the kitchen slaving over a hot stove, making me some soup.

From a can.

Hey - I'll take what I can get!

I love a steamy bowl of vegetable soup and a grilled cheese when I'm sick. What do you like to eat while under the weather?

  1. Sorry you're sick...feel better soon!
I'm most likely to be afflicted with a sore throat so I'm all for popsicles when I get sick. Oh, ramen noodles are great too.

  2. Ditto to what "the storlies" said!

Popsicles are all I wanted after my surgery when I wasn't feeling well.
And my youngest son can cook me ramen noodles, so I had a lot of them as well.:)

I hope you feel better soon!
    God Bless,
    Amy:)

  3. oh man! sorry you started not feeling well again. I'm glad you got rest though.

I love eating butter toast on the very last day I am sick - you know, past the throw up and complete yucky feeling... Oh, and ginger ale.

    Feel better! Ahhh wind chimes.

  4. I hadn't planned on taking a picture, but since it came from you in your sickly state, I'll certainly make it happen. And I'd send you some of my soup if I could! It'd make you better in a snap!

  6. Ugh, that sounds terrible! Hopefully that wasa the illness' "last hurrah" and you'll start to feel better really soon here.

My "sick" food is Campbell's Chicken Noodle soup and saltines. It has to be Campbells original condensed out of the can, none of that fancy stuff with veggies or curly noodles!

You can't beat a peanut butter sandwich dipped in chicken noodle soup on a sick day; hope you feel better!

  17. we were both disappointed in the crackers. they had the consistency of butter cookies (seeing as how there was an entire stick of butter in them) but they were peppery and cheesy. sounded good in theory, but i don't think i'll be making them again.

  22. Hope you feel better! Chicken noodle soup is what I like when under the weather.

My husband would love to go sky diving but I am with you and would try to postpone it. I'm too chicken to even go on a big rollercoaster.

  23. So nice of Husby to make you soup! Dave takes good care of me when I feel sick. When I am sick I normally just sleep all day. Literally. When I don't feel good, my body just shuts down and I can't even get out of bed--so normally I don't eat. Which isn't good. Keep resting!

  25. Grilled cheese and tomato soup is always good, and easy to make if no one is around to play nurse.

P.S. I'm having a Give Away nest week!
