Alrighty, friends. It's time for your favorite post of the year ... Christmas at Glam*mas! I decided to chop the posts into a couple because I have so many pictures that when I put them all in one post, it just becomes big and confusing.
Are you anxiously awaiting the theme? Well, if you follow me on Instagram you already know! :)
A DOWNTON ABBEY CHRISTMAS.
And it was AMAZING!!!
The tablescape for Christmas dinner was the central focus of the theme, but Mom incorporated it all throughout the house, too. Starting in our rooms!

She made up a beautiful centerpiece for the dressers in my brothers and my room filled with all European goodies for us to bring home. It was absolutely beautiful.

There were special hand creams, hankerchiefs, adorable hair clips, mittens, perfume bottles and the like. So very Downton!
On our beds were our special Christmas jammies that we all wear as a family on Christmas Eve, a set of lacy sheets (lace was a huge theme!), two throw blankets, a robe, and some more jammies for our stay.

And the new sheets on the bed we got to keep too! Husby and I were so excited because they are amazingly comfortable!

When you walk in the front door, this is what you see. Gorgeous!!

Everything is so sparkly, so pretty, and so over the top lovely!

My Mom has a special way of having an exceptionally beautiful home, but making it so warm and cozy all at the same time. I don't know how she does it!
Our stockings, of course, had lace.

And now let's go to the kitchen!

I absolutely love the candy cane theme. It was SO festive and fun. The kiddos loved it, too!

I never tire of red and white. Classic Christmas!
The bathroom off of the kitchen had a new tree this year and it was absolutely ADORABLE!

Mini sweaters!! I mean, I can't get over it.

The garland was even sweater material. How cute can a tree be?!
The tree in the den was it's usual festive self. I just love this classic tree.

It has Old World ornaments and all of the ornaments my brother and I made as kids. Such a special, sentimental tree. And now, the grandkids are adding ornaments of their own! (The giant star protruding from the top is Levi's doing ... made from cardboard and foil.)

And last, but certainly not least, my SIL and my favorite tree ... the bathroom tree!

Anything you could ever or possibly need is on this tree.

Isn't that just so much fun? I love love love it!

And there you go ... a Christmas tour through my parents home at the holidays. I'll post the Downton table and our Christmas Eve festivities after New Years Day. :) Stay tuned!!!
Oh, here are pictures of Christmas Sunday at my home church! Well, the pictures are at home, but we went to my Church I grew up in. So good seeing everyone! :) Everyone was looking very festive.

I love these angels!

And I love these people!!

Family shot fail.

Sweet pictures of my love-loves!

Wow. Wow. Wow!! I love how your Mum goes all out to make your stay special! I can just imagine what it must be like to be a child spending Christmas in what looks to be a magical wonderland :)
ReplyDeletecannot wait to see the rest of the photos. Happy new year! x
A Downton Abbey Christmas! I love it!! What a fabulous theme. I am going to a Downton Abbey Quilt retreat next weekend and can't wait for the new season this Sunday! Thanks so much for the photos - they are SO inspirational! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI love looking at your photos of your mother's house every Christmas....they are always so over the top......I mean, financially, this sort of thing is completely out of my zone...what was left on your bed cost more than I can spend on my kids for Christmas and those weren't even your Christmas gifts.....but it doesn't mean I don't like to look...your mother is wildly creative and surely could have been an interior decorator.....wait, maybe she is...I don't know....ha, ha....thanks for posting such beautiful photos!!!!! Happy New Year!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love to look at these pictures every year!! Please tell us: Is your mother an interior decorator? Even her gifts look spectacular! When does she start decorating everything? I'd imagine she starts planning the theme the year before, right?
ReplyDeleteWow, what beautiful pictures. I absolutely love the decorations on the tree. You should get those photos printed on metal wall tiles. I would definitely buy something like that and hang it on my walls during the holidays.
ReplyDeleteYour mom makes the most magical, special and memorable Christmases! Thank you for sharing your wonderful family with us!
ReplyDeleteI love all of your posts but I definitely look forward to this one each year. I'd love to hear how she thinks of her theme for the year and how far she plans ahead for all of this. Her home is just beautiful (as is yours) and you both have such exquisite taste Thank you for sharing and I look forward to seeing the rest!
ReplyDeleteLove the candy cane trees! Where did Glam*Ma get those???
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful! Tell her how much fun that was to look at! I love it!
ReplyDeleteLove it all. A bathroom tree...perfect! Love the candy cane tree & the sweater tree is to die for!!!

Could you please tell me where you purchased your green dress? It seems to have pansy's on it; that is my sorority flower. I would love to attempt to find this dress somewhere and purchase it for myself. My email is marcimcnairesq@gmail.com
