Okay folks, you all submitted some excellent recipes! I had to narrow the list down to three that we wanted to try, and though it was next to impossible, we made it happen.
The three contest entries were:
Sausage Wontons submitted by Stacy
Jalapeno Popper Dip submitted by Lisa
Pepperoni Dip submitted by Melissa
Oh. My. Gracious. Sakes. Alive. Each of these little delicacies were DELIGHTFUL.
The Sausage Wontons were absolutely beautiful. If I was basing this contest on presentation, this would be the winner hands down.

They were very tasty and my family enjoyed them so much! Especially Husby and my Sister-In-Law!
The Pepperoni Dip was devoured and my brother was especially fond of it.

It was super easy to make. I went with Melissa's recommendation and kept it warm in a crock pot, so it stayed hot and ready the entire evening. Delish.
Lastly was the Jalapeno Popper Dip.
Y'all.
I'm not even kidding you when I say this is absolutely INCREDIBLE.

I fixed this on Christmas Eve among all of our usual standard appetizers that we have each year (cheese ball, cookie ball, hot garlic bread dip, summer sausage & cheese and a veggie tray).
As each family member took a bite, they raved and raved AND RAVED about this stuff. I had to write down the recipe for several people and was told that this must be in our regular line up from here on out. It was the only thing devoured in it's entirety with not one bite left.
I polled the family, and it was a unanimous decision. While we very much enjoyed each new recipe, the Jalapeno Popper Dip was the favorite.
Thank you, LISA for the excellent recipe! Please send me your mailing information at : glamlifehousewife@gmail.com and I will send out your Frozen Hot Chocolate Kit in the next few days!
Here is the recipe for all you folks to try. You'll love it!
Jalapeno Popper Dip
1 8 oz. package softened cream cheese
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese
4 chopped jalapeno peppers (with or without seeds, depends on how spicy you like it)
1/4 cup bread crumbs
1/4 cup additional shredded parmesan cheese
Directions:
Mix the cream cheese, mayonnaise, cheddar cheese, 1/2 cup of parmesan cheese, and jalapenos together and pour into a baking dish. Mix the bread crumbs and 1/4 cup of parmesan cheese together and sprinkle over cream cheese mixture. Bake in a 375F oven about 20 - 25 minutes, or until brown and bubbly. Serve with tortilla chips or crackers.
Thanks again for all the fabulous recipes. I'm set on appetizers for a LONG time!

ReplyDeletewow that sounds good! ok, I'm curious about the jalapeno one...did you double the recipe? your dish looks kind of large, but the recipe sounds like it doesn't have much in it. Thanks :-)
ReplyDeleteOh my word! Those all look good, but the sausage wontons look the best to me! Is there a way you can share or link us to the original recipe?
