It's one of my very favorite days of the year! I have always loved Valentine's Day. It's just so fun, and pink and wonderful. I loved it before I even knew about "romantic love". I think it's wonderful celebrating ALL types of love this day! But it became even more special when I met my life long valentine. :)
I have seen this little questionnaire floating around the blogosphere and thought it would be fun to do!
1. How long have you and your significant other been together?
Let's see. We started dating in 2001. We never broke up, so we have been in a love relationship for 11 years. WOW! That's wild.

2. How did you meet? {What’s your “love” story?}
Long story short: He moved to my town the summer before our Senior Year in High School. He was "the new guy", so everyone pounced and I steered clear. I thought he was a total cutie, and we clicked as friends almost instantly. I played it cool even though his smile made my heart race. We were friends for a year and decided to begin a dating relationship our freshman year of college.
The long version is here if you want to check it out. Still gives me butterflies to relive those moments! :)

3. If married, how long have you been married?
We have been married for 6.5 years. Best 6.5 years of my life, hands down.
4. If you are married, where did you get married? Big or small wedding?
We had a big wedding with over 300 guests. When you live in a small town, everyone is such a big part of your life, so it seems like the whole town gets invited! I love that about small town living. We got married in the Church I grew up in. I was dedicated, baptized and married in the same sanctuary. So special.

5. Do you have any nick-names that you call one another? Do share!
He calls me Bunny. It's a nickname that evolved over time - it started as one thing and then morphed into Bunny. He also calls me Honey, Whinnies and Love. I call him D, Bunks (another morphed name), Darrs and Honey.

6. Name 3 things you love most about your honey.
His faithfulness. To the Lord, to me, and to our son.
His humor. Our relationship started with laughs and they've never stopped. He's my favorite person to laugh with.
His intelligence. He knows a little bit about everything and a lot about most. I feel so safe and secure with him around!

7. Tell us how he proposed?
He proposed at his house with a candlelit path leading to a table for two dressed in white linens and a dozen roses. He then played a slideshow of pictures throughout our relationship with all of our favorite songs, projected on the side of his house. So romantic, that guy.
8. Is he a flowers and teddy bear kind of guy for v-day, or strawberries, champagne, and rose petals?
He always gets me a box of my favorite chocolates, and then he gets me something else special - I never know what he's going to come up with. Now that we have a child, we don't always get to celebrate on the actual day, but we always cut out time for a special date and he always takes me some place nice and then we do something fun afterwards!

9. Are you a sunset dinner on the beach kind of girl, or pop a movie in and relax on the couch?
If I had my choice : sunset dinner on the beach, of course! But probably because that means we would be on vacation somewhere because as everyone is well aware of, Oklahoma doesn't have beaches. But I'm a sucker for romantic scenes like that.

10. Tell us one thing you’d like to do with your significant other one day. If you could do anything? Go anywhere?
We've always wanted to travel the English countryside together in Europe. We both have such a love and interest for that area, and I know we would have a blast. I would also love to visit Italy with him.
11. Tell us what you plan on doing on this Valentine’s Day.
On the actual day, we are celebrating low key at home. I'm cooking a special dinner for my boys. We will have cousin Maxwell that night, too, so we are planning a V-day date when the grandparents can babysit. Probably next week sometime! I don't know what we are doing, but I know I want to see The Vow.

12. Are you asking for anything this Valentine’s day?
Nope! But he has already surprised me with two special gifts this week. One was a CD "from Levi and Ezra", and the other was a heart shaped box of ONLY my one favorite chocolate! I was so surprised. He ordered them in January to make sure they didn't sell out. What a sweetie. Usually there is only like two of my favorite kind in a box, so to have an entire box of them is amazing! I didn't even know you could do that. Oh, and I accidentally saw something else he got me because he ordered through Amazon and they sent me the shipping notification in my e-mail. Oops. Poor Husby. :)

13. Give us one piece of advice of keeping a relationship strong and full of love.
First and foremost, KEEP CHRIST front and center. As long as you are both focused on Him, you will meet up together (think of a triangle with God at the top and you and your mate at each bottom corner). Seriously. Your marriage will do nothing but flourish. Pray for and with one another.
Second, remember to laugh. Play together, tease each other, text funny stories throughout the day ... just laugh.

14. Show us a picture of what love means to you.

The relationship you have with your husband is one of my very favorite. As a single gal, I love to hear stories about marriages that are real and built to last. Thanks for sharing!
