Weebie Wednesday!

photo

Levi is hilarious. This age is amazing. He has his own precious little personality and he's such a joy. There is rarely a conversation with him that doesn't end in giggles or a smile - you just never know what he's going to say next. I got my 2011 blog book in last night and it was so much fun flipping through there and reading different things he has said or done that I had forgotten about, so here is a post full of Weebie-isms. Things I don't want to forget!

The other night we asked him if his ear hurt and he said, "No, it feels like marshmallows. And my other one smells like chicken."

Every morning after breakfast he asks for his "kid vitamins".

He kept asking if he could eat lunch in my closet the other day. I told him "no, baby, that's a little bit weird". He replied, "Don't say weird, Mommy. We don't talk like that."

I was going to ask him something but then remembered whatever it was I was talking about. I said, "Oh, nevermind, baby." He said, "never yours?" HA! I guess he thought I said "never mine."

About a month ago, we were driving home from a play date with friends at Chick-Fil-A. He found a toy with candy in it and he kept asking me to open it. I told him I was driving and that I couldn't open it right now. He said, "please, oh please will you open it yes ma'am? Please yes ma'am? Will you open it yes ma'am?" Hilarious. He was thinking of all the polite things he could say to change my mind. :)

We were in Target and he spotted a Sesame Street hoodie. His eyes lit up and he quietly said, "whoa ... I can't believe it."

That same day that we were in Target, I took him with me to the bathroom. I take him with me in the stall all the time - no big deal. This day, he looked at me and then just BURST out in a fit of laughter. He started screaming, "YOU HAVE LEGS AND UNDERWEAR!!!!" I swear I've never seen him laugh so hard. Well then I started laughing. And we were both laughing in this tiny little stall and couldn't stop. When he (and I) finally regained our composure, he said, "I'm just teasin', Mommy." I can't help but wonder what everyone else in that bathroom was thinking!

He was completely obsessed with Christmas songs this year. His favorite was Jingle Bells, and he would say, "oh what fun it is to ride sup sup open sleigh - HEY!" He also called the Polar Express the "Polar Expressed", and he asked to watch it every day.

The other morning he ran and jumped in my lap and said, "I have the BEST mommy! This is MY mommy." :)

His little prayers are so sweet. He wants to pray before every course at dinner if we're in a restaurant. If we get an appetizer and we pray before we eat it, he insists we pray before our main course, as well. It's so sweet. He always says, "Dear Jesus, thank you for this GREAT food and this GREAT day, Amen." His nighttime prayers are precious because he goes through and names everything and everyone he is thankful for. The other night he said, "thank you for Grammy & Poppy, Glam*ma & Papapa, Daddy, Mommy, Uncle Luke, Aunt Hollie, Maxwell and my baby brother. That's all I need. Amen." I MELTED!!!! Other nights he thanks God for the fan and Ernie and the iPad ... I'm always happy it's dark so he won't see me giggling. You never know what he's going to be thankful for.

We picked him up from the Church nursery about a month ago and the nursery worker said, "are you expecting a little boy?" I said, "Yes." Then she asked, "And are you naming his Ezra?" I laughed and said, "yes, how did you know?" She said Levi told her. How precious that he was telling his teachers about his baby brother!! So sweet.

I was so sick the other day and laid on the couch all morning and put cartoons on for him. He kept coming up to me and saying, "Are you happy, Mommy? Are you sick? Do you not feel good?" It was sad. Then he came up and said, "You need a hug", and he hugged and kissed me. Then he smiled and said, "You're not sick anymore!" :)

One day he asked, "can you come clean this cookie mess up on the couch?"

I was on the phone with my Mom last night and I said to her, "what time is it?" I saw Levi glance over at our (digital) clock and he said, "It's 7." My mom heard him and said, "did he just say it was 7!?!?!" I said, YES!!!! And I was completely freaking out. I looked at the clock and it read 6:58. I asked him how he knew it was 7 and he shrugged his shoulders and said, "I don't know". I asked him if he read the clock and he said, "oh yes I did." HAHA! I'm still wondering how on earth he knew what time it was!

We went to the Aquarium the other day and when we first got there, Husby was telling Levi about animoles. (I don't know if I spelled that right because I don't even know what one is.) A couple hours later, Levi pointed at something and said, "is this an animole, Daddy?" Pretty sure my 2 year old knows more about sea life than his Mommy.

Any time Husby comes and gives me a hug while I'm laying on the couch and Levi sees, he runs and jumps on top of us screaming, "FAMILY HUG! FAMILY HUG!"

I just eat up these precious little moments with my baby boy. He's a delightful little angel and I'm so fortunate and blessed to be his Mommy.

  8. Oh my goodness! I died! Levi just melts my heart every time I read about him. I love little kid talk. I remember very well my sister putting sentences together (we're 10 yrs apart) and it still cracks me up.She used to always say something and then say "teasin!" after. Can't wait until I get to experience it with my own some day!
