The theme of my Mom's Christmas table this year was "In Honor of the King". It was adorned with golds, faux jewels, sparkly fruit and a grand Lion and Lamb. It was absolutely breathtaking.

Each place setting had a scroll with a different name for God.

It was just gorgeous! The dishes had beautiful gold crowns of different shapes on each one.

The chandelier had real greenery flowing forth from it and each chandy in the house had a beautiful mistletoe hanging from it. So fun!

She had real gold, frankincense and myrrh on display, and each guest was given a little chest full of replicas.

We were greeted with such a fun room.

My favorite part of it was this .... Christmas sheets!

Even Levi's crib had a Christmas sheet. :)

The guest bathroom was overflowing with goodies for her many guests!

The trees were beautiful.

(The boys were in a constant state of PLAY as you can see.)
Horray for pretty Holiday Homes!!

ReplyDeleteThis is beyond pretty, this is Amazing! How on earth does she do it? How does she find the time? I'd love to be able to put something like that together, it's beautiful. I love the scrolls with the name's of God on, that's a beautiful idea. It ought to all be in a magazine!

ReplyDeleteWow! Your mother's decor always blows me away! Absolutely gorgeous! I have had those Rosanna Inc. King's Crown dishes on my wishlist forever, but now that we bought a house, they are impossible to find! That's just my luck, but they looked absolutely beautiful on the Christmas table with that great lion and lamb! Loved all the details. The boys looked like they had a lot of fun too! Hope you had a very Merry Christmas!

ReplyDeleteYour Momma's house is sooo pretty. I have in-laws that do the same thing with their guests and I hope to provide the same level of beauty and comfort for our guests too. First I just need to garner myself up a sense of class.

I've been waiting on pins & needles for this post! I love your mom's house. You should do a tour after the holidays!
ReplyDeleteOh, of course that is just LOVELY. How fantastic.
ReplyDeleteIf you ever have your mom do a little interview post for your blog, here are some questions for her:
1) When do you decorate, and how long do you leave the decorations up?
2) What do you do with the different theme decorations? Do you ever reuse them? It seems like you have a lot of sets of specific dishes... what do you do with them for storage in the year? And how can you use them in the future?
3) What is your favorite Christmas decoration?
4)You have to admit you go overboard. Or at least all out! Did you have a similar upbringing or is this something you have started to do as an adult? Or even later in life? Did/do your parents decorate like this for Christmas? What is your favorite childhood Christmas memory?
Whitney, you don't HAVE to ask her these questions, but if you do... post her answers, okay? I think your mother could be the source of a lot of posts, like as a guest author or as the topic for some "scheduled" filler posts when you get busy! :)
Wow! Your mom is a great entertainer!! I love all of the details. The plates are really cute too!
ReplyDeleteCan I please vacation at your mom's home? Where does she come up with these fabulous ideas? Blown away again. Every time I see pics of her home or yours it makes me want to strive for more...and go shopping :)
