Birthday Boy

My Husby turned 27 this weekend. He is so old! :)

We had a wonderful 3 days of celebrating. Friday night with his parents, Saturday with all of my family and Sunday with me and our Little Man. It was fabulous!

Mom always orders the coolest cakes for our birthdays. Check out Husby's!

I dressed little Levi in a cutesy golf outfit in honor our our favorite birthday boy.



Isn't he a doll? Oh, so presh.

While I thought it would be a good idea to prop Levi AND the cake on the couch for a photo op, something was bound to happen.

"Oh Mommy, this is fun! I love posing by this giant golf ball cake!"



"I wish I could have a bite. Mommy, can I have a bite, pleeeease?"



He continues to giggle and kick with glee....

and....



Oops. Hunk out of the cake.

I totally didn't see that coming. I need to be more observant as a Mommy. Oh well, it made the cake even sweeter. ;) We had a great day celebrating Husby!

On Sunday, Husby, Levi and I loaded up and drove to the next big city to go to a zoo and out to eat (we have a decent zoo in our city, but we have been there 100 bazillion times, so we headed off for a new adventure!). We had such a blast! Levi loved the zoo and was awake and looking around the entire time we were there. Success!

"Mommy, if a big scary wildebeest jumps out of the bushes, will you save me?"



We saw hippos, rhinos, birds a plenty, zebras, bears, lions, monkeys, gorillas...but our favorite of them all were the...





GIRAFFES! I love giraffes. I think because they remind me of Husby since he is so tall. And because Levi is very tall, too, so he is like our baby giraffe. And....Levi had one on his little outfit, so the photo ops were just too fantastical. :)





It was approximately 9,000 degrees outside, so the hair instantly went up into a ponytail and we fought for shade any moment we could. I worried about Levi getting overheated and gave him his first drinks of water! At first he was confused and spit it back out, but then after a few drinks he started smiling and he loved it. And thanks to the handy dandy iPhone, I captured the entire thing on video. I'll have to show it to you sometime. :)



Oh, what a fun day with my two favorite boys.



As we rolled out of the exit gate, our little boy fell asleep. He was all tuckered out and cuddling with his new friend that we picked up at the gift shop, Huey the Hippo.
