The Windy City.

Spring Break is next week and my whole family is heading out to The Windy City for a last big shebang before baby Levi comes in to flip our worlds upside down.

I can't wait!

I have only been to Chicago once and it was only for a day because we were just passing through. I'm excited to soak in the sounds and smells of a brand new City.

And I'm beyond ready to get away for a while.

I need to break free from the monotony of my days!

So. Next week I will not be blogging. I will be vacationing!

And eating this:

And taking my picture in this:

HAPPY SPRING BREAK! :)

I will return 3/23.
I am a modern day homemaker with a passion for family, cooking, celebrating, decorating, travel, and memory making! The Lord has blessed me with the desires of my heart in my husband and our two sons. We recently built our dream home and cultivating a loving and happy haven for my family is where I find so much joy.

  2. I have been reading your blog for awhile now --- and I live in the Windy City, so I thought I'd actually leave a comment :) Enjoy your trip up here - the weekend will be a bit crazy with all the St Pattys day festivities, but its always a lot of fun. Any other plans besides deep dish and the bean?? :)

  3. Have fun. I lived in Chicago for 5 years while hubby was in med. school. You must have Lou Malnati's pizza, simply the best in the city. Enjoy your trip. It is a wonderful city!

  19. Hope you have a great time! Me and my sweethubby went there this time last year for our anniversary. It was really cold, windy (duh) and snowed. We did the bean pic, sears tower, pizza and went to see Wicked @ the oriental theatre. I'd recommend seeing Wicked if you haven't seen it. FAB U LOUS!

  20. I'm going in September! I used to live there so we're visiting my friends and D's aunt. Everyone thinks a different Chicago style pizza is the best. I think Girodano's has the best pizza - and I know it sounds weird but try their spinach pizza...they're famous for it. Last May when we visited Chicago we went to Girodano's and Steve Harvey was at the table next to us with his entourage.

    - Ed Debevic's is a REALLY fun place to go. I had my 21st birthday dinner there.

    - If you haven't seen Blue Man Group - go see it. It's an awesome show.

    - Wendella's architecture boat tour ROCKS...it's a really interesting tour that goes through the river and out onto the lake for some really great shots of the Chicago skyline.

    - Of course the museums are neat.

    - D & I took a tour of Wrigley field while we were there and it was SO NEAT! Since the Cubs are still at Spring Training you'll probably be able to get in to a tour no problem. It really is unbeatable.

    Have fun!!

  23. Chicago! Yay! I went there last year around this time to buy my car. I was only there like less than one day, but we ate at Uno's and the pizza was WONDERFUL and all the tall buildings, it was crazy and pretty, lots of interesting folks. Oh, you'll be there for St. patrick's day, so some weirdo's will come out. Get excited. We were there then. Lots of people wearing green stuff. I hope you guys have so much fun!

  24. I love Chicago. If you're looking for a great view of the city, go to the John Hancock Center, I think it's called. There's a restaurant on the 95th or 96th floor. We went and just had drinks by the windows. It's awesome! Have fun and be safe!
