It's hard for me to memorize Scripture. UNLESS, I make up a little diddy to go with the verse. Last year, Husby and I memorized a new scripture each week and made up little tunes to go with it to make it easier. Each Sunday morning, on our way to Church, I recorded us singing the verses. I have several and some are just hysterical...but today I will share with you the very first one that we did.
Maybe I will share the rest with you later. I don't want to overwhelm you with our fabulous singing voices all in one day, though. ;)
We made this passage into both a rap and a song. Here we are one year ago (my hair is way shorter then than it is now), singing our little passages of Scripture. Enjoy!
Here's the "rap". We are gettin' down with our bad selves...

I have a terrible time too - thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteCracks me up every time I see it! It is true thought that it is a good way to remember something.
ReplyDeleteI love it! Songs are about the only thing I can remember YEARS later so this is a great idea!
ReplyDeleteSo cute too ;-)
Yep definately I agree that seems like a very helpful way to remember. I wish I could get away with such a nice singing voice like you have! :)
ReplyDeletehehehe, that was adorable! That is a very good idea, I will have to try that. I'm going to be trying to memorize James this year, that might help me.
ReplyDeleteHee, hee you guys are too cute!
ReplyDeleteYou two are amazing and inspiring. I love how you do things together, whether it's faith related or not. Plus, songs/music are a great suggestion for memorization- it's amazing the songs I remember when I can't remember other things.
ReplyDeletebravo bravo! you guys should tour! that was awesome! that's a great idea, too!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are just soooo adorable!! Love the way you remember the scriptures...wonder if I could get my husband to rap with me.....nope, he wouldn't do it. I think I will try it solo on our way to church next Sunday just to see his reaction! Thanks for the great idea!
ReplyDeleteHAHA I love this. thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI have the worst time memorizing scripture as well...but any kind of song truly does help.
What a great way to memorize. My teenager needs help in memorizing Bible verses now that he's in private school. You've inspired me. Thanks
ReplyDeletethat's awesome! very cute. i enjoyed your performance :) that is a great idea and i look forward to using it in the future!
ReplyDeleteI love this! Y'all are too cute!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are so funny! I wrote a post last night about memorizing scripture, too. I also make up my own little tunes when I try to memorize, and you really don't ever forget them! You should post more, I am always looking for verses set to music. The kids and I memorized 1 Corinthians 13 easily because we have a cd that puts it to music. I am going to listen to this one over and over until I get it too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea. I love it and you guys look like your having so much fun with it. How sweet!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are so silly! I wonder how D feels about this post! :)
ReplyDeleteOk..that is GREAT! Brilliant idea. Soon, Levi will be singing along :0)
ReplyDeleteHaha, love it!!!
ReplyDeleteI love that you guys do this kind of stuff together. My husband is not a Christian (I was baptized after we were married), and he doesn't go to church with our boys and me. Scripture memorization would be totally out of the question! Too cute!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are the cutest!!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, and the videos are hilarious!! I am loving your blog, keep it coming!
ReplyDeletethat's pretty much the cutest thing I've ever seen! Good idea!
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are too fun - Levi's gonna have a blast with his parents.
ReplyDeleteIn children's church yesterday we had the kids doing all kinds of hand motions during their memory verse. Yep, all of that helps! :)
That's so cute!
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe that you haven't auditions for American Idol yet. I think you could take the country by storm...
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea!!
ReplyDeletePlus it looks like you guys had a blast doing it together. :)
D grew up memorizing Scripture like that. Just ask him about the "Hide 'Em In Your Heart" song books he and Case sang with when they were little. I'd play the piano and they would sing (mostly Case, since he didn't enjoy the "spotlight"). I know what was missing ... YOU being the director! A great way to teach your children Scripture!
ReplyDeleteyour voices are get!
ReplyDeletelove it!
I remember this from before, and it is still just as funny. You know, songs/chants are so useful for teaching and learning. I use them in my classroom all the time. Good work!
ReplyDeleteWow, you guys are so much fun! That is hilarious! You should publish all your songs!
ReplyDeleteokay- well I loved your videos!
ReplyDeleteAlso- not sure if you wanted a letter for the game- but if so- your letter is "A"- so make a list of 10 things you love that start with A :)
Please remember your seatbelt next time. OK?
ReplyDeleteLove the song...
That's great! How did you videotape it so well?
ReplyDeleteHahahaha you two are a riot!!!
ReplyDeleteI love it!! That is such a great idea!
ReplyDeleteThat was really good! Also, I wanted to thank you for your sweet comments on my blog!
ReplyDeleteYou two make such a cute pair. :)
ReplyDeleteI just came across your blog and love it!! We have much in common- love for the Lord, being a mommy (stay at home one) and a great housewife!! :)
ReplyDeleteI remember this! Too funny!
ReplyDeleteVery clever Whit because you two love music. Any way to learn Scripture is great. I used this years ago when teaching children and it is a great tool. Great job!! Keep on learning together. Kay and BJ would be so proud...
ReplyDeleteHaha you guys are awesome! Love it!
