I love seeing other people's home decor and especially love seeing their Christmas decorations! It's so fun, and the variety in every person's individual style is great! I love getting peeks inside of people's homes. It's kind of like spying. :)
So, I am inviting you to come spy on me and Husby! Come on in and make yourself at home!
I am a picture freak who can't decide which ones to use, so I am going to have to devote one blog per room. Today, let's start in the Living Room!
Welcome to my Christmas Extravaganza!
(It's hard to take a picture of a Christmas tree!)
Some close-ups!
My tree is very traditional, decked with Old World Christmas ornaments. I love the Old World ornaments because they are SO colorful and so festive. They make my tree sparkle and they just scream Christmas!!
I also like to have things jutting out everywhere all over the tree.
Like these:
These match the wreath at the top of the tree. They are sparkly and add so much color throughout the tree.
These little gems are my FAVORITE jutter-outters on the tree. They are BELLS! When we brush up against the tree, or a gust of wind comes through the room, the bells jingle and I believe in Santa all over again. It's magical.
I try and get ornaments that have sentimental value to us. And I like to write on the bottom of them the meaning of them and the year we purchased it. Here are a few examples of what we have picked up over the past 3 years!
We bought the hamburger after year 1 of marriage. Because we LOVE to eat! :)
London phone booth - because I went there a few years ago.
Dr. Husby. Because he is in Medical School. But he does NOT have a double chin like this ornament.
I just love this one. A gingerbread house and it's so sparkly and beautiful.
I got this one a few weeks ago. It reminds me of all the Hallmark Christmas movies that I so dearly LOVE!
I once had a traumatic experience in a hot air balloon. And this ornament always reminds me of that time.
My college mascot were Bison!
Turtles have always been my favorite animal. I used to tell my friends I looked like one.
We went on a cruise for our honeymoon!
Mom bought me this the year I got engaged. So special and sweet!! :)
I also have traditional ones like this one. And several nativity ones and Santa.
I have tons more with meaning, but I will stop boring you and get on with it.
Because Old World ornaments are not the cheapest things on the block, I have a lot of "filler" ornaments. And I love them! They are jewel filled and blend in perfectly with the sparkle and shimmer of my other ornaments.
Okay. So that is my Living Room tree.
And here are some more pictures of things throughout our Living Room.
Please ignore that cord running across the fireplace! How embarrassing. It's because our builders did not put a cable outlet on the wall we NEEDED one. So just pretend it's not there. K? Thanks. :)
And there you have it! Our Living Room Christmas pretties. Stay tuned tomorrow for the KITCHEN!!
