So.
My mom is fabulous. I have told you this before. She throws the best of parties and the loveliest of showers. Sunday, we showered one of my favorite friends, Katie. She is due next month and is such an excited little mommy.
They all reside back in my hometown (the sweetest and best small town on planet earth), so I went "home" (it's so hard to determine what to call the house you grew up in once you get married - I always think of both my house and my parents house as "home") for the weekend to help with the festivities. The shower was at "my house" - which actually means, my Mom and Dad's. :)
I took some pictures the night before so I could capture it all before things got messed up.
The shower theme was "Princess" to match Katie's nursery for sweet Olivia.

Party Favors!

These are cute egg timers that say "time for baby"! Awwww....

Check out these cups.

We made her wear this!

This is where she sat to open all her gifts!

I love shower food. Love it.

(Mom has just finished lots of renovations - hence the reason there are no dishes in those glass cabinets and her new kitchen table won't be in for a few months!)

Here is Katie with her mommy and sister.

Here is half of the room.

She had SO many people come and she received an incredible amount of gifts for baby Olivia!! It was a lovely, lovely time. Mom did such a fabulous job making this shower extra special and beautiful.
See where I get my love for entertaining and decorating?! My mom is the coolest.

Hi Whitney...wow, you mom has a beautiful house!! Everything looks so awesome for the party...especially the food (ya, the sweets..yum)!

Michele
Do you know where she got the chair that was sitting on the table? That is really cute and my princess might need one too :)
ReplyDeleteYour moms house looks amazing!!
ReplyDeleteWow! She has a beautiful home and she did an amazing job on the shower!!
ReplyDeletewhitney! your mom is out of control!! I will never forget the first time I met her!! Aud had told me ALL about her and when I met her I knew it was her! Sweetest lady in the world :) Such a cute shower! Would she come to California to help me decorate baby c's room!? ha
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wonderful party! I love planning things like baby showers and wedding showers, too.
ReplyDeleteI know I need to update. I'm optimistic that it could happen tomorrow. As I've mentioned, the blank "Create Post" box is so...blank! And white! Plus, usually I go to all the trouble and I get maybe 2 comments so I feel like no one reads it :) haha!
Your parent's house is GORGEOUS!!! I love all the chandeliers. I'd die a happy woman if someone threw me a shower half as nice as that. Your friend is very lucky.
ReplyDeleteI love cute showers. It looks so pretty!
ReplyDeleteTell your mom that my family and I will be needing room for 4 people....We can move in at the end of the month if that's okay.
ReplyDeleteI love everything that your mom and you did for this shower. Your friend must have been overjoyed. When I saw the first picture of table with the baby chair in the center, I literally said, "AWWWWWWWWW!" out loud.
Great, now I think I'm ovulating.;)
If I ever throw a baby shower....I will be copying all of these ideas.:)
God Bless,
Amy:)
Holy Cow!! Your parents' home is gorgeous!! And your mom carefully chose every tiny detail for the shower. How much fun is that? Your friend is one lucky girl to have people who love her so much!
ReplyDeleteI forgot to say in my previous comment, "That is one of the cutest cakes that I have ever seen!"
ReplyDeleteSigh. :)
What a beautiful house. And that little princess chair? A-DORABLE!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Just gorgeous! I bet the mom to be was so excited when she saw everything. Your mom is the best!
ReplyDeleteoh, your shower looks lovely!!! i love all the pink!!! and i looove shower food, especially the cake! you are so creative with your decorating!
ReplyDeleteWOW that looks amazing. You and and your mom did an wonderful job! Its beautiful, all of it.
ReplyDeleteAnd I know what you mean about not knowing what to call home. I only live 4 minutes from my parents (where I gerw up) but when I talk about their house, I still call it my house... I always have people confused but when you live somewhere for 22 years, its hard to not think of it as your house!
WOW! amazing. that is absolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I've ever seen a more lovely shower set-up! Just BEAUTIFUL!
ReplyDeleteYour parent's home looks gorgeous. You'll have to give us a photo tour sometime?
Wow- what a shower! Looks like fun. And what a beautiful home. The kitchen looks amazing! I know what you mean about not knowing where to call home. I just refer to both Mom and Dad's and my house as home.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous shower! Everything was so beautiful - your mom (and you too) are way creative and talented. I'm sure your friend Katie felt very special and celebrated with such a fun baby shower.
ReplyDeletePhyllis from The Office was there!?!? Right behind your MIL! Too cool!
ReplyDeleteWow! How gorgeous is that?! If I was the mommy-of-honor at that one, I'd never want it to end (you might have to hoist me outta there with a crane or something, too). Perfection! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is the most beautiful shower I have ever seen! Amazing!
ReplyDelete-Carrie
I love that Princess Shower! I think I want one of my own :) Your Mom is Super Mom, what a fab party planner!
ReplyDeleteWOW!!!! What an awesome shower!!! She can throw me a shower any day. :)
ReplyDeleteWow, Whitney! What a beautiful party! Your mom clearly has a knack for decorating and entertaining. I'm so glad you inherited those traits and that you have a heart for sharing it with all of us!
ReplyDeleteWow, gorgeous house and what a fabulous looking baby shower! I love the shower decor--I had to enlarge all the pictures so that I could see all the details.
