i would love to know what a typical day in your life is like, as in your routine with levi...

also, i would love to know how he is doing developmentally at his age. it seems like levi is advanced for his age in some areas like language development, so i was curious to see what all you do with him to enhance that. my 2 year old has a large vocabulary but i didn't know if that was the "norm"

For the past few months, my life has been anything but typical, so I have kind of forgotten what a normal day is like. When it is just Levi and I at home and we don't have anything going on and Husby is at work, we have a routine of sorts. After breakfast, Levi watches Sesame Street while I get some things done around the house and the rest of the day I try to get these things in for Levi with housework/cooking in between:
Outside Adventures - where we go exploring, or on a walk, or play with his outside toys.
Reading Corner - I let Levi pick out the books he wants to read and we sit and read for a while.
Creative Time - coloring, drawing, stickers, (anything on his art table).
Sing Song Time - we sing all of his songs and we dance.
Learning Time - where we count (he's up to 20!), do the alphabet (he can say them all, but we are working on recognizing the letters) and flash cards.
And somewhere in between, he takes a two hour nap. :) We don't always get to fit in each activity every single day, but we try!

As for how he is developmentally, he is right on track! He is doing everything he should be doing and his vocabulary is very large and growing every day! This age is a BLAST!

When will the next installment of your love story be?
Don't leave us hangin'.....
:-)

It's coming, I promise!! It is written, I just haven't posted it yet. I will, soon. :)

I would love to know how you have changed/adapted your cleaning and housekeeping routines as Levi has grown and changed. Most of your posts on these topics are either before baby or during early infancy and I know in my life a lot has changed in terms of what I can get done while entertaining a two year old.

Also, I would love to know if you have any tips on meal planning, grocery shopping or cooking with a toddler in tow. You make it all seem so easy and I want to know more about how you get it all done.

My cleaning and housekeeping routines are ever changing with an ever growing child. :) He is becoming such a big help, though, so that makes things easy and keeps housework fun. He always wants to do what I am doing, so I consciously try to stop and slow down and let him do some things so that he feels like he is helping. It's always much easier/faster to do it myself, but he gets so excited when I praise him for his help, so I make sure to let him "help" as often as he wants. He is also getting good at picking up his toys, which is great. For a long time I thought I would be picking up toys every 10 minutes for the rest of my life. :)

I should do some more posts on these routines since I haven't in a while! I do though, try and get the big things done while he is napping.

Meal planning is something I do before grocery shopping and I just sit down and think about what sounds good for the week. I don't have any big secrets for it, though. As far as the actual shopping goes, I like the local store that has little cars attached to the carts!! Levi gets to "drive" while I shop and it keeps him entertained for a good chunk of time. When that gets old, he walks alongside me (and sometimes RUNS down the aisles) and helps me put things in the cart. As long as I let him participate in whatever I'm doing, he's good to go!

I would like to know if you had any advice or guidance about someone wanting a relationship with God. I feel like I keep hitting road blocks in my quest to open my heart to my Saviour. I want Him in my life, I want to be obedient, I want to have a relationship and live the life He wants to me to. But I feel like I am always hitting a wall. I chose to ask you this because just from your blog I can see the strong, true relationship you have with Christ and it is awesome!

First of all, thank you for trusting me with this question. I feel honored!! The key to having a strong relationship with the Lord is the time you put in it, just like any other relationship. The more you talk to him, search Him out through Bible study and seek out that time with Him, your relationship will grow before your very eyes! A giant thing for me is prayer. If you aren't used to praying or don't feel like it's getting you anywhere, just keep doing it. Do it often! The more you pray, the more "in tune" you will become with the Holy Spirit, and your faith will grow by leaps and bounds. If you have some more specific questions or would like for me to pray for you, e-mail me at glamlifehousewife@blogspot.com and I will be more than happy to chat with you! :)

I'd love to see some photos/tutorial of your current makeup routine.

FUN! I will definitely work on a post for this, but that means you get to see my 12 year old un-madeup face. HAHA! But I just love makeup so much, that I think this sounds like a great idea!

Also this one may be too personal or hard to imagine, but I wonder how you would handle it if one of your children lost touch with God? It really seems like the cornerstone of your marriage and parenting. So, in one sense it is hard to imagine. I just know that sometime children rebel or find their own spiritual path.

The only thing I could do in this situation is saturate it in prayer. I pray every single day that little Levi will come to know Christ at an early age and glorify and honor Him with his life. We are doing all that we can to instill Truth in little Levi and we pray that his heart will become softened to the Spirit with age and maturity. I feel a huge responsibility in showing Christ through my parenting techniques and marriage relationship. Children model what they see and I pray he sees Christ's love in his daddy and me.

I would love to know how you have found ways to still prioritise your husband since Levi arrived. Has it been hard? What ways have you found to continue to work on your marriage?

Some times are harder than others, but I feel that we've done a good job at keeping our relationship a priority throughout these past two years. When Levi was young and new, it was definitely a lot harder, simply because Levi needed so much from us. That, and we'd never had a teeny tiny bundle of baby at home with us! Now, it's a lot easier to plan dates, weekends away, and other special times where we get away and refocus as a couple so that we can come back together and be better as a family. We always have a couple of hours together after Levi goes to bed and that is "our" time, and throughout the days when Husby is working, we text a lot, call (when we can) and do little things to let the other one know that we are on the front of each other's mind.

Are you still following Weight Watchers? And if so...how is it going for you. I started WW the same time as you:)

WW Is awesome!! I lost 12 lbs with it and it was wonderful. I stopped doing it a few months ago because I seemed to stall out and started a low-calorie count with several friends. Loving it! Don't ask me how many birthday cookies I ate, though. ;)

Ok, one more, and this is REALLY going to make me look like a stalker, but Levi has some of the cutest clothes. Have you ever thought of doing a sale on your blog of things he outgrows? (Really, look at my blog-I'm totally normal!!)

LOL! Girl, you make me laugh! I have never thought about doing a blog sale, but thank you for the compliments! We are saving the really cute stuff that Levi has just in case the Lord gives us another baby boy in the future. :)

What camera do you use for your photos and what actions or processing do you do to them?
You have such simple, classy, and pretty photos! :)

Thank you!! I have a Nikon D3100 and LOVE LOVE LOVE it. It is amazing and it makes taking photos easy. I love it also because it also does HD video and I use that feature a lot.

do you have a favorite type of pajamas??

Girlfriend, you would gasp if you saw my PJ's. They are my WEAKNESS and I have like a billion and one of them. Specifically, PJ pants. I like to get the from every place I visit and I bought like 5 pair in NYC last summer. I'm a PJ Pant Freak.

1) What is inside your purse? ;)
2) When you have a crazy craving is it typically for something sweet or something salty?

Hold on, let me go look!

A wallet, a diaper, 2 packs of gum, a roll of scotch tape, dinosaur sticker activity book, Aleve, 2 Sesame Street sign stickers, chapstick, 6 lipsticks, powder, lose change, a pink pocket knife, Children's Advil, 3 pens and Kleenex.

I am a salt craver and lover! I love crackers and bread. The two times in my life that I did a low-carb diet, I craved SWEETS in the worst way. Specifically, donuts.

What are five things that you are looking forward to this summer?

What is your "home all day with Levi" uniform?

How do you feel about having lots and lots of people reading your blog- the majority of people you don't know personally? Do you (or husby) ever get weirded out by this?

Our little family vacation, all the holidays (Levi's b-day, 4th of July, sis-in-law b-day, mom's b-day, my b-day and Husby's b-day.), long light evenings outside with my boys, a much needed quiet month of June and FESTIVALS!

My uniform at home is a pair of work out pants, a tee shirt, light make up and a pony tail. If I need to run an errand, I switch out the pants for jeans. :)

I think it's awesome to have so many readers! Sometimes I will be talking to people and they'll mention something about my life that I have forgotten about, and that kind of freaks me out sometimes, but then I remember that I blogged about it and breathe a sigh of relief. It's a lot of fun to run into people in stores and them say, "are you Whitney from the Glamorous Life of a Housewife"? I NEVER get sick of that!! Haha, it's happened a dozen or so times. So funny!! I love it. Once, someone went up to Husby and said, "YOU'RE HUSBY!" and they recognized him before they recognized me. Levi and Glam*Ma have also been recognized, too. Hilarious. I have also spotted different bloggers out in "the real world", too, and I get so excited. :) There's something about blogging that makes you feel like you really know a person, so I have hugged and squeezed complete strangers more times than you know.

What kind of makeup do you use?
I would also like to know how you edit your pictures (do you use an app?) and how you style your hair! I love it! :)

Thank you! :) I use all kinds of makeup. When I do my makeup tutorial post, I'll show ya. :) I use Photoshop Light Room II when I edit photos. As for my hair, I blow dry it, throw it up in large 2.5 inch hot rollers, take it down and shake it out! Viola. It's easy! And other times I use my Chi to straighten it, but that takes quite a bit longer.

Thanks for all the fun questions, guys!!! I loved answering them! :)

  3. Great answers Whitney! I really admire your parenting. You and Husby are doing an outstanding job with Levi. I think it’s so true that instilling the Word in a child at a young age is so important. That’s the most valuable thing that my mother could have ever given me. As humans, we may not always be the perfect model or example of Christ in our lives but when that foundation is there, and you truly know Him, it’s pretty difficult to stray away.

I have to tell you that I was thinking of and sending prayers your way last night! So glad that you all are OK!

  4. Whitney, after reading your post about all the things you do with Levi, I just want to tell you that his future Kindergarten teacher thanks you. I have been teaching for 17 years, and you would be shocked out how many parents do NOTHING with their kiddos to get them ready for school.

  5. I think you will get a kick out of this: I just realized yesterday that I had never ACTUALLY met Levi or Husby. I guess I just feel like I know them. I had a laugh when it hit me while looking at the b-day pics. Maybe the video is why my brain got confused: " 'Hey Buddy.' 'My name is Weebie.'" (I still laugh at that.)

  6. I LOVE this post! So many questions that I would've never thought to ask but I'm so glad other people do! I look at your blog as a "something I aspire to be" blog. Thanks your answer to the "what you do with Levi" question...I'm going to file that away for when Zoe's a toddler, or actually, I might even implement it sometime in the very near future.

  7. I love this- my daughter is only 3 months but I wrote down your ideas for what to do day to day with Levi. I like all the things you guys try to do together. I want to do the same with my daughter.
