The Sickies.

Well folks, we've had a case of the sickies in our little abode. It all started with Weebie. He had a bad case of the yuckies with coughing, fever, runny nose, gunky eyes, throwing up - the whole bit. It was pitiful.

He laid around a lot, watched a lot of Sesame Street and the Sprout channel, and was just all around a little poor it.

We cuddled, read books, sang songs and rested a whole bunch.

One night at about 4am, he was throwing up every where and being absolutely miserable, so we threw him in bed with us. He snuggled close to me and reached up for my hand. He grasped it as tight as he could and then fell asleep. Each time he would wake up (to throw up or cough or get a drink), he would lay back down, move over close and feel for my hand. It was the absolute sweetest thing on earth!!

It's hard to not catch his little germs when he is sick because he is always offering kisses! How can you deny his little kisses? Well, you can't. It's impossible. So guess what?

I went to bed Monday night shivering so bad I was shaking the whole bed. I had four blankets on, PLUS an electric blanket, and finally went to sleep ... only to wake up at 2 am vomiting my guts up for 5 minutes straight.

And then again at 4.

Oh, it was terrible. I haven't been that sick in a L-O-N-G time.

The next morning, Husby called my Mom to come help while he went to work. I am ever so blessed with family willing to do whatever, whenever to help. Mom came and took care of Levi, made my house sparkle and had supper ready by the time I got out of bed that evening. I honestly don't know what I would do without her.

I hope this is the end to the sickies.

It seems that EVERYONE out there is sick or has sick kiddies. It's just miserable. I pray the sickies stay away from your household!

  1. I think the sickies are going around. I'm all the way in Colorado and my boyfriend and I had the stomach bug last week. NO FUN! I have never been happier in my life to have two bathrooms!! Hope you are all getting to feeling better!

  2. We had it last weekend and I was always afraid of something like that with no family around. I am happy to say that the Lord sustained us through it! Yes, it was miserable, but our eight year old really rose to the occasion! She re-heated leftovers for dinner and made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the other kids. Ryan and I both threw up 7+ times each but the kids only threw up once. The good news is that we haven't been that sick (with vomiting) in probably 6 years, so hopefully you'll be done for a while, too!
