Our Holiday Home 2013

It's Christmastime once again!  Horray!

I absolutely love the feel of our home this time of year.  The sparkly lights and glittery decor just makes our home even more cozy than it already is.  Such a special home, this house of ours.

I didn't really do anything new this year as far as decorating goes.  I added a few new things here and there, but nothing over the top.  For the most part, it looks like it always does at Christmastime.  Since we are moving this summer, I'm on the verge of downsizing everything!

I love our tree so much.  It is filled with so many memories and ornaments to represent them.  Love!

This year we added several new ornaments.

First, an ornament of our home.  Love, love, LOVE this.  It also has our address, so that we will always remember our beautiful home as the years pass.

I picked up a soccer ball and cleat to represent Levi's first little sport.  So sweet!

And then I let the boys each pick one out.

Levi, not surprisingly, chose a gum ball machine.  The child is OBSESSED with gum and candy.

Ezra chose this hilarious little frog.  So fitting - a funny ornament for a funny little boy!

And the ornament to represent our year is the most FUN thing we did all year!  DISNEY!

Mom and I found these ornaments in the Magic Kingdom and fell in love with them.  I love that every time I look at it, I will always remember that very special vacation.  The best!

The mantle is decked with holly and berries!

And this is the most special spot in the house.

I had this canvas made from a photo of the boys that I took last year.  It's just the most special thing!

And, of course, probably my most favorite part of our decor .... our Christmas Village!

cmasdecs-6

We started this village the year Levi was born and we add a new building each year (though last year and another year we bought two!).  It is the most fun thing to sit and stare at.  I just want to shrink down and hop right in there, going to Church and sunday supper with all the little families!

cmasdecs-5

My table is becoming far too small for our village, but I just crammed it all on there as best as I could.  The boys are forever moving the pieces and playing with the people, so I'm not too worried about it looking perfect.  I want them having fun memories of their little village!  I love that they love it.

We have the Church, the House (our first pieces), the Bicycle Shop (representing Husby!), the Donut shoppe (chosen by Levi last year!), the Pharmacy (representing my Dad!), the Train Station and Santa's Workshop Toy Store.

cmasdecs-7

I just realized that the clean cut family on the sleigh ride is positioned directly in front of the train.  We can thank Ezra for that!

In our entry hall is our nativity my parents brought us back from the Holy Land.  My most TREASURED piece, hands down.

And, the boys have their trees that I let them decorate all by themselves!

This is Ezra's tree and for some reason, all of the red balls have mysteriously disappeared from it.  Hmmm.  Levi added a few trains and cars for him off of his own tree.  So sweet.

cmasdecs-9

Levi's tree is a hodge podge and he loves it!

cmasdecs-10

There are cars, trains, Santas, some pots and pans ornaments that typically go on my kitchen tree (that I didn't put up), and his newest addition - Power Ranger ornaments.  Haha!

So there you have it.  Our cozy little Christmassy cottage with our precious little elves always lurking about! :)

  1. You've created such a warm, loving home for your family. They are incredibly lucky to have a Mom as fun and thoughtful as you. I'm a little sad you are moving away from this gorgeous home you have built together, but I know it must mean God has bigger and better things planned for you. Happy and blessed adventures to you all! Have a wonderful Christmas!
