What We Did.

Wow!  There was a unanimous decision concerning yesterday's post!  Trash it! :)  Several of you asked how we handled it.  On the way home, we stopped at a gas station, purchased a different sucker and trashed the strangers.  We told Levi to never eat candy from someone you don't know, but that her gesture was kind.

Oh, and for those who said we never should have accepted it in the first place - it wasn't that easy.  She didn't ASK, she INSISTED.  We didn't have time to blink before she whipped out a sack of suckers! (Which I think is ridiculous - a person should always as the parents if the child is allowed to have something like that. Of course a child will take it if he's offered!) It was a strange and awkward situation, indeed! And when you're not expecting it, you're not always super quick to react in a way you think you might.

But that, my folks, is the rest of the story.  Thanks for weighing in!  I asked my Facebook friends and got LOTS of "let them eat it" responses.  I think it goes to show that mostly Mommy's are reading my blog - hehe.

And now for some cutie little boys to close out the week!

  1. Where did you get that itty bitty belt?!?!? My boys are so skinny, we could use one of those!

  2. Your boys are just too cute!!! I would have done the same thing you did (re: candy and strangers) You just can't teach them one thing and do another.

I still have a giveaway going on www.all-things-beau-ti-ful.blogspot.com

  4. I think you made the right choice. The woman may have seemed harmless but she was not very wise. She should have known you wouldn't of wanted your child to take candy from strangers. I always wonder though if we send kids mixed signals. We tell them not to take candy from strangers but then send them out to trick or treat. I know lots of people now do mall/church trick or treating but there are several parents that still send their kids out into the neighborhood.
