Weebie Wednesday: Buddies.

Life long friends are a real rarity. For the most part, we have different friends in each season of life and as we grow, age, move, and change, some old friendships fade in their strength and new ones blossom. We don't necessarily always lose those old friendships, but it's natural to gravitate toward the ones that are most relatable, encouraging and in turn, beneficial for that particular season of life. For instance, my best friend in Elementary school seems like more of an acquaintance now whereas my "adulthood friends" here are a big part of my life.

I have been blessed with friends that I remain close with that stem from all different times in my life. I still have great friendships with several girls from my childhood, teen years, college and now my "newer" ones that I have gained since being married and moving to a new town six years ago. All of them are so dear to my heart and we all have our unique histories and stories together along with the promise of a future. They are a part of my life support system and several of them helped define for me "true friendship" throughout the years. A real blessing.

One girl, however, has been there through it all.

It all started in Elementary school. Our big brothers played on the same baseball team, and though we were never friends at school, we became "baseball game best friends". It was weird. I don't remember her at all during those years at school, but at the games, we were inseparable.

The only thing is, we were polar opposites. She was tom-boy through and through and by the end of my evenings running with her, my bows were pulled out, my ironed clothes were filthy and there was dirt all over my hands. And if you knew me as a little girl, this was quite the opposite of everything I was. But when I was with her, I didn't care. I had FUN!

She turned into a cowgirl in our middle school years, so we ran with different crowds, but somewhere around our 7th grade year, we realized each other's existence inside the walls of the school and quickly became friends. Real friends. She was so different from most of my other friends at that time. She was SUCH her own person - not caring who sat by who at lunch, not caring if I had another friend over to spend the night, wearing things she liked (shout out to the turquoise cowgirl coat!), etc., and that drew me to her instantly. She had her own mind and own opinions and I loved it! She knew exactly who she was and there was no changing it. She was a breath of fresh air ... easy. She was my new best friend.

And she's been by my side ever since.

I can't even begin to describe the type of friend she is to me. We know the in's and out's of one another - each other's history. We have literally walked through this life together, and she knows me like no other friend. I always say we are kindred spirits because we are just SO much the same when it comes to SO many things. Life has taken us many different places over the past several years - and some of those places meant hundreds of miles apart. But no matter what, even though we saw one another a couple of times a year, we picked up exactly where we left off with no gaps in between. She remains that "easy" friend. One of the few people that I can always, no matter what, be 100% comfortable, relaxed, honest, and myself with. She's a rare jewel amongst a heap of treasure. And I love her so much.

She recently moved back, so we get to see one another regularly now. Though we always talked each week when we were so far away, it's just good to be in each other's presence again. We are writing a new chapter in our life long friendship, and it's an absolute blast.

Levi and her little girl are about a year and a half apart, and absolutely love one another. Seeing them interact and get along so well is so much fun. It warms my heart so much because I have such flashbacks of us as little girls at those baseball games. Who would have ever thought that ornery little girl who often got me into trouble would end up being my very best friend 20 years later? :)

I didn't see it coming, but I'm so glad it did.

May Weebie and Ruthie Jane share a similar friendship throughout this precious stage of childhood!

And I pray daily that he too, will be blessed with a godly friend who will encourage, challenge, and bless him throughout his entire life. For a friendship so precious is absolutely priceless.
I am a modern day homemaker with a passion for family, cooking, celebrating, decorating, travel, and memory making! 3. These pictures were precious. You are so blessed to have a friend like that. I am at a stage where I do have friends, but nothing like I want. I know this is just a stage and I will find the friendship that I so desire.

  7. 1. I don't pull apart ban as or grapes.
    2. I don't know about whether it's staged or not but a few of my dance mom friends were excited to be in the background of the show 2 weeks go. Being a dance mom, I dislike the show because I don't think it's real. If my daugther's ballet teacher even acted lik Abbey Lee to her and made her feel less about herself I'd move on. My child dances because she enjoys it, and though she'll never be professional I don't want to see her not enjoy it. She has had her confidence in all things grow so much because of her dance. I'm thankful to watch it and wouldn't want a soul to take that away. Now the dance moms...wisest...some of them could probably be found at our studio...though I don't know with the cost of dance how they are so made over.
    Have a great day tomorrow.

I recall many times YOU got me in trouble (Ms.D's,Mrs.R's, AND Mrs. P's class) ALL in middle school. :) However, I too treasure our friendship. It's irreplaceable. I love you dear friend!
