One Of Those Perfect Nights.

It wasn't the leisurely browsing and shopping at stores we rarely frequent.

(Though I was 2 minutes away from a free paring knife.)

It wasn't the exceptional dinner at a nice and quiet restaurant.

(Though it's after midnight and I still can't stop thinking about how exquisite our food was.)

It wasn't the cheesy movie with the buttered popcorn and Milk Duds.

(Though it was highly enjoyable.)

It wasn't the late night run to Target for a couple of necessities.

(Though our impulse splurge purchases were extra fun.)

It was the laughter, the hand holding, the reminiscing, the talk of the future, the non-stop chatter, the inside jokes, the creating of new ones, the quiet, the time to soak in one another and focus our attention on no other person or thing but each other.

It was those things that made our date night absolutely wonderful.

But you know what made it perfect?

Enjoying it with my guy. My one and only.

After two months of a ridiculously long and hard work schedule - mostly the night shift and only a couple days off in the midst ... tonight was much needed, much appreciated, much anticipated, and much enjoyed.

  6. Very sweet. We have a 2 month old and I'm already itching for a date with my hubby. Is that bad? Haha. I know a lot of people go much longer without one. I just miss him! ;)
