Christmas Day.

We woke up bright and early to see what Santa left for Levi and Maxwell and then got ready to head to Church! Santa was good to the boys and even ate his milk and cookies - the first thing Levi checked when he got up. :)

Mommy/Daddy Santa left the dinosaur and Glam*Ma/Papapa Santa left the Leapfrog Leap Pad + Games. Levi LOVED it. Funny story: Levi kept telling everyone that he asked Santa for a dinosaur, so Santa was on the hunt for the coolest/biggest dino he could find. Santa found this one that walks, throws rocks, roars and is interactive. The whole shebang. When Levi saw it in action he said, "that makes me a little bit nervous", and wouldn't go up to it. When someone asked him what Santa brought, he said, "he brought me a dinosaur ... but I wanted a small dinosaur." SANTA FAIL!

Decked out in Christmas Sunday clothes!! Which he promptly got sick on in nursery. So we had to leave Church after about 15 minutes. Ha!

After Church, we had a delicious meal over at my in-laws and began the celebration over there. It was yummy!

The boys dug into their stockings!

Levi's great grandfather's name is "Happy". He always says, "all Happy's buddies raise your hand!", and they do this. It's so sweet. :)

ChristmasDay-12

After lunch and clean up, we all gathered to open gifts! My MIL got my FIL flying lessons for Christmas. She asked me to write a poem for her to read to him as we opened presents for her to tell him that way. Instead, I rewrote the words to Merry Christmas Darling by Karen Carpenter and made her sing it!! It was hilarious. We were are rolling with laughter and my MIL & FIL were crying. We felt bad that they got emotional, but it was just so funny. You should hear the lyrics. :)

Out of all the things they received, Levi's and Des' favorite toy was the umbrella.

ChristmasDay-14

They ran around the ENTIRE DAY screaming, "OH NO! IT'S RAINING!" If we heard it once, we heard it a bazillion times.

ChristmasDay-16

Grammy got some good cuddles from baby Lincoln.

And Levi got some from Aunt Casey! :)

And Lincoln got some from me!

My MIL got us matching aprons to make her Mom's famous sweet rolls - a recipe she brought over from England. They are DIVINE and simply not Christmas without them. I wish I had one now!

ChristmasDay-11

.... even though Casey and I had to do all the hard work - RIGHT CASEY?!?!?!?!? ;-)

(We gave her a hard time the entire time we made them because we had to roll out the dough over and over and over and over.)

The day after Christmas, we woke up and got ready to hit the sales and a fun day out together. We rode in the Church van so we could all fit. Ha!

The boys wore their matching shirts they got from Grammy and Poppy.

It's impossible to get a good picture of a 2.5 year old, almost 3 year old and almost 1 year old.

See?

This one above just takes the cake. Hysterical.

A few days later, we celebrated baby Lincoln's upcoming 1st birthday with all of Husby's cousins and extended family. It was a great time, but I was a sneezing, swollen mess, so I only got a couple of pictures with my phone.

(He INHALED this cupcake in under 20 seconds. I've never seen anything like it in my life!)

All that Christmasing caught up with this preggo and I hit a wall. Husby was like, "Honey, you look horrible." We had planned a small family trip (just the three of us) over the next couple of days just for some fun alone time, but we decided to delay it because neither Levi or I were feeling up to it.

When we got home ... we CRASHED.

It was an awesome week away with our families and I'm so grateful for the time spent with everyone. Precious moments, indeed!

  5. Funniest events involved inhaling a cupcake (literally, because I don't think he ever chewed that thing) and the "gumbrellas" with the constant rain inside. :-D What sweet memories from a super fun family time!!!

  9. You and I totally did all the hard work and should receive the glory from those sweet rolls! Great job, sista! You're legit.
Also, Lincoln had another cupcake on his birthday and did the same thing. He doesn't put it down or even old it away from his face. Its hysterical. Aaron should send you the video he took at the Cottage for you to post. We could win $10,000 with that video! Love you and so thankful for a great few days with you guys!
