Dunzo.

Well, ladies and gents, the yard sale is OVER was a rip roaring success!!

We live 50 miles from where I grew up, and each year I haul all of our goodies down there for the big sale. Know why I do that? Because where we live now is the Middle Of Nowhere (we live on the outskirts of a city) and does not get any traffic whatsoever. And in my hometown, I have the prime spot on Main Street to set up (behind my Dad's pharmacy) and SO MANY people come.

People who have known me since I was itty bitty.

Girls that I haven't seen since High School show up every year and in the midst of the chaos Saturday morning, between running around and catching up with everyone and rearranging piles upon piles of clothes, someone exclaimed, "this is like a High School Reunion!" And you know what? It was!

I saw old friends, old cheerleading compadres, old teachers, tons of people from my old Church and a few little old ladies that I haven't seen since I was a wee one. At one point there were 20 cars lined up on the side of the Drug Store and over 40 people shuffling through the goods. And this was before we even officially opened! It was INSANITY. But it was amazing. I am so appreciative of everyone in my hometown who comes out and snags our items up like hot cakes. We made more than we even expected and the Lord truly blessed our efforts and our day!

As we checked the people out and sent them off with armloads (and boxes, in some girls case), they hollered, "I'll see you next year!!" And I've decided to not wait until the week before the start gathering and pricing. From now on, I'm going to price and store all throughout the year so that it's not such a nightmare to prepare for.

Thanks for the well wishes, friends! I wish you all could have been a part of the big day. It was a lot of work, but a LOT of fun!
I am a modern day homemaker with a passion for family, cooking, celebrating, decorating, travel, and memory making! The Lord has blessed me with the desires of my heart in my husband and our two sons. We recently built our dream home and cultivating a loving and happy haven for my family is where I find so much joy.
