It's a busy busy day here in my bungalow, so I don't have time to blog something substantial. But there is something I would like to know...
Am I the only one out there that is COMPLETELY freaked out by Yo Gabba Gabba?

Weebie loves it, but I mean seriously...it's a little on the creepy side if you ask me.
(And no, that was not me you heard singing their catchy little sing-songs up and down the aisles of Target. I would never do such a thing. Nope, not me. No Sir-ee Bob.)
(I er. I er.)

My husband and I were discussing this yesterday...and it does freak us out...but my boys love it! They stop in their tracks and dance when they hear it come on....cracks us up...
ReplyDeleteit feels like it would if i were on acid when i watch it... which is why we dont...
ReplyDeleteDon't. Bite. Your friends. So simple, yet so true. Ha!
ReplyDeleteMy son is obsessed! I often find myself singing those catchy little songs:)
ReplyDeleteHa! Our friends have three boys and they absolutely love it. The whole family dressed up like the characters for Halloween last year. It was ADORABLE. Yeah, it's pretty weird, but what kids' show ISN'T just a tad strange? I remember being terrified of Snuffy from Sesame Street when I was a kid. lol
ReplyDeleteSome of the kids that I babysit for watch it and yes, it is COMPLETELY creepy!!
ReplyDeleteI've not watched it but I think they're adorable...yes, they're weird but so am I. To me it's like a new take on Fraggle Rock. :-)
ReplyDeleteMost preschool shows creap me out. So we watch Winnie the Pooh and Veggie Tales. My daughter also likes Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, which I don't like. (annoying hot dog dance...and what if some stranger asks her "you wanna come inside my clubhouse?" what is she going to say?)
ReplyDeleteLittle kid stuff like that is usually rather terrifying, unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteThey scare the beejesus outta me and my daughter has never seen it. We stick to the disney channel with the Imagination Movers, mickey Mouse and we enjoy the sprout channel
ReplyDeleteLOL at this. a friend and i were JUST talking about it this weekend. i asked, "hey, tell me about Yo Gabba Gabba. I hear it's all the rave." she whipped her head around, eyes filled with panic, and said, "don't watch it!! the babies will love it, but don't watch it yourself. you'll have nightmares."
ReplyDeleteI told you it was frightening, but it puts Adilyn in a trance. She absolutely loves it!!!!
ReplyDeleteBaby loves mama, mama loves you. Baby is happy, mama is too.. Have you heard that one yet??
Yes. Totally weird and they freak me out too - like something out of my childhood nightmares! Tommy hasn't gotten into anything on the TV yet so we don't watch it.
ReplyDeleteI can't tell you how many times I have found myself singing. "what was that sound, who made that noise that went squeak, squeak, squeak, what is it, what is it."
ReplyDeleteHi - I found your site from Kirby...
ReplyDeleteI have an 11-year-old and a 7-year-old and I can tell you that all kids shows are weird and creepy. Even Sesame Street if you break it down is REALLY ODD. My oldest was little back in the hey-days of Barney and Tele-Tubbies. All weird. Weird weird weird.
Just imagine what THEIR kids will have!!!
I have seen just enough of it for it to freak me out too. I son't let my kids watch it. Disney Channel is pretty much our regular tv viewing choice.
ReplyDeleteThat show is not allowed on in our house for that very reason-it creeps me out! We watch other shows on that channel and DD knows it's a "yucky" show and will tell me to change the channel. She's almost 3 now, but probably about a year ago if she even saw the characters on a commercial she would run and hide cause she didn't like them. I just feel like there are better shows for DD to watch than that. One of our favorites is Little Bear.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't freak me out... but I do think it's just plain weird. Sometimes I find myself staring at it if it's on and just think, "why on earth do they (the people who make it) think this is good?!?" Haha!
ReplyDeleteI can't watch that show. Who thought the tall, red, one eyed monster covered with bumps was a good idea for a KID show? AHEM.
ReplyDeleteThen again, I can't watch most of those shows so I'm not really a good judge. Sesame Street for the WIN!
I'm TOTALLY freaked out by it! Kids seemed to be mesmorized by it though. I don't get it...but maybe it takes a little one to figure it out!
ReplyDeleteI love the show! My kids love it! It totally teaches positive messages. My 3 year old is sooo smart and he learns so much from the show. He doesnt watch much tv, but he does watch this. The other day we were in the car and my 3 yr old said, I like to dance.....go mommy go go go mommy and we all started dancing and going around the car using everyones name! When his brother tries to bite, he tells him, dont bite your friends!
ReplyDeleteIts a good positive show.
Brooklyn is absolutely 100% obsessed. I can say, want to go watch Yo gabba gabba? And she will run to the tv and wait patiently for me to turn it on.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I will admit, I totally sing the songs. And you know who else does?! YEP, the husband =)
yup...they are freaky. But they got the kids hook, line, & sinker.
ReplyDeleteI hate hate hate yo gabba gabba! my kids that I nanny for love it.
ReplyDeleteMost new kids shows creep me out too Jo! Really the only thing we let her watch is Winnie the pooh and veggietales as well.
ReplyDeleteI've seen Yo Gabba Gabba ONE time and never again! Weirdest show ever!
