The Girls In The Big Apple

I have decided to split up our trip to the Big Apple into four categories: The Girls, Celebrity Sightings, Food and NYC Pics.

NYC-1

Today I will focus on ... The Girls.

NYC-7
(On a rickshaw ride through Central Park.)

My Mom and Sister-in-Law (my brother's wife), accompanied me on this fabulous trip. The three of us travel extremely well together because we like the same things and we're all easy going. There are always lots of "I don't care, whatever y'all want to do's" when we are together, which makes things stress free and e-a-s-y.

(The FRIENDS fountain that they splash around in during the intro.)

Our plane landed at 10:30am and we hit the ground running as soon as we hit town. We had the time of our lives! Our luck was absolutely perfect and our timing was right on the money with everything we did. The weather was great, and we literally jammed everything we possibly could into every day. I slept like a rock every single night.

NYC-118

We stayed at The Sheraton which was just a few blocks from Times Square, a few blocks from Central Park, a few blocks from the great shopping and a few blocks from wonderful restaurants. It was the perfect location for walking everywhere.

NYC-49
(The most refreshing iced tea on earth after a warm afternoon of sight-seeing!)

NYC-102
(The Huxtable's stoop!)

We did a few bus tours - A City Tour and a TV & Movie Tour. Both were really great! I love taking city tours wherever I am because you get a great overview of every location and can hop on and hop off as needed. That was nice.

NYC-56
(My tummy looks extremely round in this picture. I promise I'm not hiding a baby in there.)

We did a lot of sight seeing, shopping, eating and discovering. Saturday, the day of BlogHer, was also my birthday. We celebrated that evening by eating at Carnegie (my favorite deli and cheesecake in all of the world) and going to a Broadway show - Promises, Promises. But more on that, later...

NYC-113

We bought so many t-shirts it isn't even funny. Oh, and pajama pants. There were just so many cute ones.

NYC-37

NYC-68

We have a lifetime of hilarious stories that we will continue to tell as the years pass. As hard as it was to leave Husby and my little Weebie (I cried and cried after I sent him off with his grandparents --- it was the longest I'd ever been apart from my baby!!), it was a good break and an amazing time with my Mom and SIL.

NYC-70

And what better way to get some time away than in New York City? Ahhhh, the best city on earth.

Come back tomorrow for our TEN celebrity sightings!!!
I am a modern day homemaker with a passion for family, cooking, celebrating, decorating, travel, and memory making! The Lord has blessed me with the desires of my heart in my husband and our two sons. We recently built our dream home and cultivating a loving and happy haven for my family is where I find so much joy.

  1. First post?! Yay!

I think it's amazing you, your mom, and SIL all get along so well, not because you are expected to fight, but it gives you extra incentive to really bond as a family. I am very far away from my two SILs (who I get along with splendidly but don't know very well). You and your SIL look like CELEBRITIES yourselves in those last couple of pics! Also what is that archway called because there is one of those in Barcelona too!

  7. You three ladies happen to be three of my all time favorites. I loved your trip because it meant I got to see Levi and Max while you were gone. Levi cracked me up at church last Wednesday night. He was hugging Gramma Becky so tight it was hilarious. He would hide his eyes and then look at you and smile with those gorgeous dimples. But he was NOT letting go of Becky! And then seeing Max do his army crawl in the nursery was fun. What a friendly little guy he is!

  13. Love your pics!

I used to be a FRIENDS fanatic, so I will point out, that the fountain in the opening credits of friends was not actually in New York, but on the Warner Brothers lot where they filmed in LA http://www.friends-tv.org/faq.html#1.15

If you look at pics from the opening credits, you can tell it's different from that one in NYC :)
