Half A Decade With The One I Love.

Five years ago, I took your hand as we walked down the aisle into the future ahead of us. Neither of us knew what it would bring, but we had our hopes and expectations for our dreams and we knew that regardless of where life brought us, we would be okay - because we were finally together.



I remember that day so vividly. I was so nervous waiting out in the hallway with my bridesmaids and Dad, but as soon as the doors swung open and my eyes met yours, all anxiety subsided and a rush of peace flooded my body. I remember this specifically because still today when I am nervous or anxious, the same thing happens when you come to my side. You have the most calming effect on me. You are my soulmate. How blessed I am to have found you so early in life!



If I could have seen that day where we are today, I would have been overwhelmed with joy. Each year with you has been better than the last and we have quietly and gradually transformed into these adults that seemed so out of reach and far away when we were 21 & 22 and just starting our marriage. I wouldn't trade our blissful, carefree days of early marriage for anything in the world; but I also wouldn't return to them. As beautiful and precious as those memories are, the substance, maturity and firm foundation we have built in these past five years is invaluable.



We, like any other couple have our good days and sometimes bad, our happys and sometimes sads, but through those we have grown, matured, and have learned to appreciate and love another one a whole new level. You are so quick to make our sads happy again, and make our bads good again, and I love that about you. You can bring me out of a "funk" or bad day like no one can. You are quick to remind me that little things are not the end of the world and are even more quick to apologize after an argument, even when it's not always your fault.



You make the simplest of things a grand adventure because of your contagious joy.

I feel like each year I have discovered new aspects about you. I'm not sure if it's me that is just slowly realizing those qualities are there, or if you are developing into an even MORE wonderful person as the years pass. I'm sure it's a little of both. I can hardly wait to see how amazing you are in 20 years! Tee Hee Hee...



I knew you were an incredible guy when I married you, but this year you have absolutely blown me away. I've seen you in the role of friend, boyfriend, fiance and husband, but to see you in the role of Daddy is quite possibly the best yet! The way Weebie lights up when he sees you and the way you light up when you see him - it makes my heart melt. The day we met our little Levi, you automatically jumped full force into this new position and you haven't looked back. I knew you would be a fantastic Daddy, but had no idea you would be this amazing.



You have always made me want to become a better person. And even in my mistakes, you make me feel like I am the best person in the world. I love how you encourage me, inspire me, and cheer me on day after day. You make me feel like you're my biggest fan, and I want you to know, that I am absolutely yours.



I didn't know what life after our honeymoon would bring, but Love, it's surpassed my wildest dreams. You make being a wife my most prized title. I don't know where I'd be without you. Thank you for making life so fun, so exciting, so cheerful and so magical.

I love you to the moon and back....
