Weebie Bear,
You are EIGHT MONTHS OLD! Eight months! Can you even believe it? People told me to enjoy holding you, kissing you, cuddling you because before I knew it you would be crawling and squirming and all over the place. You know what? They were right.

You are crawling everywhere and you started that last month. You still like to army crawl, too and it makes me laugh so much. You are in to EVERYTHING! Just a few weeks ago you started pulling up on anything and everything around you and it always throws me off guard when I step out of the room and walk back in only to find you STANDING there like a big boy!!! Oh, my little Weebie. You are growing up too fast for Momma.

I remember the first day you pulled up on your own in front of me. It was a few weeks ago and "we" were folding laundry in my room. I looked up and saw you pull up to your knees on my makeup case and then make your way all the way up. I grabbed my phone and caught the last part on video. I was so proud of you, little boy. You are so strong!
Even though you are crawling and pulling up and standing everywhere, you are still my baby. You still love to be held. You love to be rocked. You love kisses. You love to cuddle. You reach up for me when you want me to hold you and then you bury your little head into my neck and throw your arms around me. You are my LOVE.

Your personality continues to develop and stand out every day. You are the sweetest, friendliest little boy, always throwing out smiles to anyone and everyone who you think wants one. You get confused if waitresses don't pay attention to you, so you stare them down until their eyes meet yours, and then you break out that killer smile and it gets them every time. You love your little friends and love to be with them. You are most definitely a people-person. The ladies in the nursery at Church say you are just the most active little thing and full of personality. But of course, I already knew that. But I am happy to know that you are still "yourself" even when Mommy isn't there. You think I'm the funniest thing in the world and your giggle is so very contagious. You have such an inviting little face, my love. So pleasant and loving.
It is so fun to watch you learn. You know how to fake cry and when you do, I burst into laughter and say, "WEEEEBIE, YOU LYIN' TO MOMMY" and you instantly grin and get the funniest look on your face. You know that I know. And that makes me laugh.

Though you still look like a cue ball in pictures and such, you are getting a lot of hair. And it is WHITE! I think you are going to be a little blue eyed blondie. How precious. Your skin is fair, but somehow your legs always look tan. It's the darndest thing!
Your very first tooth finally broke through the day that you turned 8 months old. You look like such a big boy with that tooth. I know the second one is right behind it, and before I know it, you'll have a head full of beautiful pearls. Oh, baby. I'll miss those toothless gums of yours. So sweet.

You are eating 3 meals a day along with 4 bottles and you are getting so good with your hand/eye coordination! I give you yogurt melts and you pick them up one by one and place them ever so gently in your mouth. It's the cutest thing in life.
You continue to amaze me more every day. I am overwhelmed with the love I feel for you - and it just grows on a daily (hourly....minutely!!) basis. I thank my God for you all of the time. What a blessing you are, my son. You are my Weebie Boy. You are my pride...my joy.
Love,
Mommy

I think every Wednesday should be Weebie Wednesday. I love to see his smile. He really is the cutest thing on two legs.
ReplyDeleteYou will look back on these monthly letters and be So glad you wrote them one day. Especially when the second one comes along and you're trying to remember when to expect certain developmental milestones but mostly because they genuinely help you cherish your time with your children while they are babies. My mom still write letters to us in our own special journals that she plans to give us one day. I love that she does that and I've begun it with mine too.
ReplyDeleteYour little one is so precious! What a sweet letter from momma, it will be so treasured.
