Chicken and Noodles (And Advent Day 2)

One of my favorite meals in the winter is Chicken and Noodles. Yum! Today was a cold one in these parts, with a high of 39. So that means we had to have a warm, wintry meal for supper tonight. I ran to the store, grabbed the missing items from my pantry and whipped these babies up.

This is my favorite recipe for chicken and noodles. I modified a recipe that I found on Allrecipes.com a few years ago. It's one of those things that I make year after year.

It is so easy, so fast, and the taste? Well, they're fantastical. Make them and you'll see! Trust me.

INGREDIENTS
1 can condensed cream of chicken soup
1 can condensed cream of celery soup
3 (14.5 ounce) cans chicken broth
2 cups diced, cooked chicken breast meat (I use a pre-cooked rotisserie chicken to simplify my life!)
2 teaspoons onion powder
1 teaspoon seasoning salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
2 (9 ounce) packages frozen egg noodles

DIRECTIONS

In a large pot, mix the cream of chicken soup, cream of celery soup, chicken broth, and chicken meat. Season with onion powder, seasoning salt, and garlic powder. Bring to a boil, and stir in the noodles.

Reduce heat to low, and simmer for 20 to 30 minutes.

You can literally whip this up in minutes, then sit back and wait for it to thicken and cook. You can also substitute cream of celery with cream of mushroom, if that's what you prefer.

What to serve with it is completely up to you, but for us, we had these:

Yummy honey wheat rolls. Delish! It was a good supper that warmed our souls at my house tonight.

Something else that warmed our souls, was Day 2 of Advent with Weebie.

Day 2.

So far our story is as follows:

Caesar Augustus said that a census must be taken. So Joseph and Mary went to Bethlehem to register.

  1. Yum! Those chicken and noodles look wonderful. Is Levi's hair coming in red? That would be so cute, my oldest brother had red hair growing up and it was really pretty. What kind of camera do you use? Yours seems to take great detailed shots, mine would be very blurry if I tried to take a picture of something like that advent calendar and it's still fairly new. :(

  23. I've been craving chicken and noodles!!! I swear we're twins. Anyway, I made them tonight and they totally hit the spot. The only bad thing about chicken and noodles is when I tell people about them and they think I'm talking about chicken noodle soup...grrr!
