5 Months! You Can Stop Right There.

Weeb475

Little Levi,

You are 5 months old. If you knew how this tugs at Mommy's heart strings, then I think you would stop growing right this very second. You know I'm kidding, Little Lamb. I love how you grow. You are learning new things every day and just when I think I want to freeze you in this exact moment in time, you do something new. And after I calm down from screaming and clapping and yelling "YAAAY LEVI", I stop and see that I love how you grow. And I love how you change. And I love the Little Man you are becoming.

You are quite a treasure.

You are rolling over from back to front and front to back like a champ. You started doing this a while ago, but recently mastered your special techniques. When I go to get you out of your crib in the mornings, you are always on your tummy! I think sleeping on your tummy is your favorite because within 10 minutes of putting you down, I look at you on your monitor and you're sound asleep on your tummy. You also sleep on your side a lot too, and it's just so precious. You love to move, Sweet Boy and you definitely keep Mommy on her toes during the day.

You are on the verge of sitting up very soon. You can hold yourself up for a few seconds before toppling over, and as you grow and strengthen those core muscles, you will be doing it on your own before you know it. You eat your rice cereal very thick now and with a spoon. As I make my way to your mouth with the nourishment, you grab that spoon as fast as you can and shove it into your mouth. It is hilarious. Your favorite flavor is banana rice cereal. Scrumptious! Daddy and I are going to wait until next month to start you on baby food. I'm sure you will love it!

You laugh out loud all the time now. You especially love it when I say. "I'mmmm gonna get thaaaat .... BABY!!!" and then I nuzzle your neck or blow on your tummy. You also love the Monster Hand Game that Daddy plays with you. You giggle every time.

You are so expressive with your little face. You say so much with your eyes and I feel like you truly know what I'm talking about! You can look surprised, concerned, bashful, shy, sweet, excited...to name a few. You have the sweetest little face. I probably kiss it 929181 times a day. Give or take a few.

You still have not mastered the whole sleeping through the night thing. But really, what's the rush? I mean, you have the rest of your life to do that! ;) (and so do I.....) You "wake up" once a night (and when I say wake up, you are never fully awake....just semi awake!) for a few ounces and fall back asleep as if nothing ever happened. I don't even pick you up out of your crib for it. I stand there, feed you and go on my merry (sleepy) way. I understand that some babies sleep through the night at 6 weeks and some don't do it for 15 months! I have a friend who has experienced both with her two kiddos, so it just completely depends on what you need, love. Regardless, I'll always be there for you. You sleep for a solid 5 or 6 hours before you need those few ounces, and then sleep for another 4 or 5, so I'm definitely not complaining! :) Those 5 minutes in the middle of the night are moments that I won't always have with you, Little Boy.

Unless I go wake you up at 3:30am when you're 16 and stick a bottle of Dr. Pepper in your mouth. Hhhhmmmm, now there's an idea. ;)

Your naps are very consistent, though you do not require a lot. You take a short 45 minute one mid morning and then a longer one in the afternoon - usually an hour and a half to two hours. You usually go down for the night around 9 or 9:30 pm and you wake up for the day around 8 am. Of course, sometimes you stay up later or wake up later (or earlier) or sometimes you throw an extra nap in, but on a typical day, that's how you roll. You have always just had your own little routine, and I help you along - giving you what you need.

You are making new noises all the time, too. There have been times I've sworn you said Momma. Or Da-da. But, of course, you were just babbling. (But between you and me, Levi, I know you really said it.) ;) (Yup, I'm that Mom. Haha!)

You are a pleasure, and a delight to raise, My Son. You are my joy. My love. My blessing from the Lord.

I love you to infinity. Kiss Kiss.

  1. When he was very new, Levi looked just like his daddy. The bigger he gets though, the more I think he looks like you. Funny how they do that!
