I apologize for the sporadic blog updates from me this week. It's been a busy one, so my blogging has been few and far between.
Yesterday, Maxwell was able to wear real clothes! Would you look how these teeny tiny preemie clothes just hang on him? My gracious!

They are trying to help him regulate his own body temperature, so he will get to wear clothes now. So sweet.
Today he had to have a blood transfusion. It was a very rough day for him and he didn't feel very good and cried a lot. That just breaks our hearts. With all the blood they are taking from his little body, he was not producing more fast enough, hence the transfusion. Please pray for zero complications with this new blood coursing through his tiny little veins and that he will continue to move swiftly on the road to recovery. Pray also that this will be the last of having to have a blood transfusion.

He is up to 2 lb. 12.5 ounces, so he is quickly heading toward the 3 pound mark! Praise God. Hollie now gets to hold him twice a day, so that is a definite blessing for them.
Thank you still for your generous prayers on his behalf. We are just so grateful for every single one.

Thanks for the update! Glad to hear that they are doing well!! :)
ReplyDeletePraying for Hollie too - I'm glad she gets to hold him twice a day now. That does good for her mommy heart. (o:
ReplyDeleteSo glad he's gaining weight!! I was a preemie and had to have blood transfusions and they saved my life--as scary as it is, I know it will work out!
ReplyDeleteYay for little Max! You will have to update your prayer for max button with all the weight he has put on. (-: How precious.
ReplyDelete~Kathryn
i'm so happy that he's making so much progress.
ReplyDeleteSuch great news! God is so Good!
ReplyDeleteMy mom still has some of my brother and I's preemie outfits. People made us some clothes because nothing would fit. I put on of my pajama outfits on a little bear one time and it fit perfectly. I was amazed; my mom was right--you can't fathom how little preemies are unless you see it with your own eyes.
ReplyDeleteMy mom said that my brother AND me could be covered with ONE wash cloth.
I love following along with Max and pray he continues to do well. He looks so cute in his little outfit. I'd also like to snag a button and link it to you so others can follow and pray as well.
ReplyDeleteI found your page through Mrs. P....and Im glad I did. I am now following you. My thoughts and prayers are going out to Maxwell and the family. I had a friend go through the same thing at 20 weeks pregnant, and the boy made it and is doing just well now at one years old.
ReplyDeleteKeep us updated on his status. If you get a chance to check out my page, hope you enjoy!! =)
I've been wondering how he was doing. He is so small in his clothes. It brings tears to my eyes. Almost 3 lbs, that is great!
ReplyDeleteWhat a little fighter that baby is! He's still #1 on my prayer list every night.
ReplyDeleteAwww..... such a sweetie - thanks for the update and please keep us posted! He's a doll!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the update--still praying!
ReplyDeleteHe is just so sweet, I am sending my love his way!
ReplyDeleteStill praying for this sweet baby boy! He is so precious!
ReplyDeletePrayin' for him!!
ReplyDeleteLove the little clothes. He is now the size was when Dawn was at her lowest. Can you believe how perfect and tiny they are at that size?! He is truly a miracle! We are still praying for the entire family.
ReplyDeleteAwe He is just to tiny and so precious. So glad to hear he is doing super and continues to gain. What a precious jewel. Our love to all.
ReplyDeleteGo Max go! :) Still praying...
ReplyDeleteHe is just the most precious little guy ever.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad he's doing well. I have heard of preemie parents buying the doll clothes made for cabbage patch dolls. I know it sounds silly but they fit. I hope he continues doing well and growing.
ReplyDeleteHi Whitney! My friend just opened an etsy shop for paintings for kids rooms. Her style reminded me of you... thought you might enjoy :)

Thanks for the update!
ReplyDeleteI happened upon your blog through "Confessions" and noticed the Maxwell button on your page, too. An old friend of mine had her little girl at 28 weeks last month. She (Lynette) and her husband Rusty are missionaries in Thailand, which has been hard, but a blessing at the same time. Baby girl's name is Olive Hope, and she is beautiful! It breaks my heart every time I see new pictures of her on their blog, and hear the stories of other parents and babies that are at the hospital with them. Check out their blog rustylynette.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteNow I have 2 little fighters to pray for!
Hi, Whitney,
ReplyDeleteI came by from the bump blog to check things out and happened upon Max's story. I have almost 16 y.o. twin girls that were born on the spot at 27 weeks. They were 2 lbs. 4 oz. and 2 lbs. 2 oz. I did their birth stories in three parts last December for their birthday on my blog.
What a precious baby boy! God is truly good!
