25 Things You Might Not Know About Me

One of my favorite sections of US Weekly is where they have a celebrity tell 25 random things about themselves. As I laid in bed reading the mag last week, I started to think up facts about myself. I figured I could play too, even though I am no celebrity! :)

1. I am a closet Disney Channel fan. I am happy to have a baby now so I can justify myself if someone drops in while I'm watching Hannah Montana or The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.

2. Mexican food is hands down my favorite "out to eat" choice. Chips and salsa - yes please!

3. I do not think anyone looks good in gaucho pants. They should be banned from society.

4. I hate laundry. My least favorite thing to fold is socks. My favorite thing to fold is towels.

5. Husby gets mad at me for throwing things away. Honestly. He gets on to me at least twice a week for throwing things away that I wasn't supposed to.

6. I love to bite my family members.

7. I like the idea of working out, but can't work up the motivation to do it consistently.

8. My brother accidently dropped an ax on my big toe when we were little. It gushed blood. I was wearing white sandals.

9. I prefer my pasta very al dente.

10. Mine and Husby's initials are carved in the Eiffel Tower.

11. I must shave my underarms every single day or else I freak out. And I hate the word armpit. It also freaks me out.

12. A big pet peeve of mine is when someone calls you, then talks to someone else in the background while still on the phone with you (even if just for a minute, it's still rude!!). Please call me when you are ready to talk; I have other things to do!

13. I would never say that to you in person, so I have to subtly mention it here. Ha!

14. I *hate* confrontation, dissension, pettiness and ugliness. There's no need for it.

15. However, I love watching it on TV! For instance, The Hills and The City. I do not like Kristen and I love Whitney. Not just because she has my name.

16. I think Rod Serling from The Twilight Zone is really cool. Even though he was midget-ish and a chain smoker.

17. Though I have never tasted any of it, I hate seafood. It stinks.

18. I have a pink birthmark! It's on my inner left thigh and shaped like a turtle. This is why turtles are my favorite.

19. My feet grew half a size during pregnancy. I had to sell most of my old shoes in a yard sale and I am slowly adding my new size to my collection. I now wear an 8. If they continue to grow a half size per child, I hereby swear to never become the next Michelle Duggar. Or else my feet will reach from here to Canada.

20. "Funny" movies are never funny to me. And things that aren't supposed to be funny, usually are to me. My sense of humor must have flip flopped somewhere along the way.

21. I pour milk duds in my popcorn at the movies. It's the only way to roll.

22. I wish I could still do all my cheerleading tricks. I was in such good shape and didn't even realize it. Ho Hum.

23. I've kissed one boy.

24. One of my favorite features about myself is my skin. Once, in High School, I sent out a survey to people to have them fill questions out about me, and when asked what my worst feature was, someone put "you're a little too white." Oh, how it hurt my feelings! Red heads are supposed to have fair skin and would look like freaks if we were tan! (Can you tell I'm still offended?) All this to say, I like being white. (Heaven Forbid!)

25. I used to be convinced that Rachel Ray was a lesbian. Now when I think about that, I don't see how I ever thought that.

25.
I am a modern day homemaker with a passion for family, cooking, celebrating, decorating, travel, and memory making! The Lord has blessed me with the desires of my heart in my husband and our two sons. We recently built our dream home and cultivating a loving and happy haven for my family is where I find so much joy.

  1. towels are my favorite thing to fold too, i think because they take up a lot of space, and once they are out of the pile, it looks like less to fold--my least favorite is t-shirts

  2. Number six made me laugh so much! I swear I thought I was the only person who did that. I mostly do that to my Mom and I call them Monkey Bites. :)

  3. You mean people actually prefer food other than Mexican? I thought that preference was automatic.

Also, I think almost everyone likes folding towels. They're so straight and easy to fold!

  4. Oooh...I pour M&M's in my popcorn at the movies! I LOVE it!
That was super fun to read! I wonder if I could think of 25 things people don't know about me...I tend to be an open book...to a fault.

  5. OMG this cracked me up! I can't stand Kristen on the hills either UGH! It drives me nuts too when you hang out with someone and they sit on the phone. I have a friend who is great at doing this both ways and it annoys me beyond belief.

  6. You are hilarious. ANd I'm the same way about cleaning my ears as you are about your armpit situation. (o; Isn't it funny the quirks we all have - all things just make us who we are! And you're just fun!

PS - I LOVE the Hills. I hate Kristen, but I can't make myself look away from the drama. I'm still mourning the loss of LC. I swear her and I should be BFF. *sigh*

  7. This is too much fun!! I love that you filled this out and definitely some things that I didn't know about you! :)

  8. ha ha...it never ceases to amaze me how much we are alike! this was fun!

  9. Darn. I had just sent you a pair of gaucho pants in the mail as a surprise!! I guess I shouldn't have included the lobster, either ... :)

    Laundry. Bleh.

  10. I'm the same way on #11, 12, 17, and 20! And I also have to clean out my ears every single morning.

and I have a question - do people not shave their underarms (my word for it) every day?? That's just gross.

  11. Hahaha!!! Rachael Ray a lesbian?! You're funny. I pour M&Ms into my popcorn! I can't eat milk duds. I'm still scarred from having tried to eat them with braces.

  12. Shannon - I don't because my skin can't stand it. Being shaved so often breaks it out in a horrible, itchy rash. I'm not in the habit of showing off my underarms anyway, so it doesn't make a big difference to me to shave them every 2-3 days or so. :)

  13. I always kinda thought the same thing about RR!

  14. What a great list! I love reading these - so much fun. And I am totally with you on #12 and #22.

    Also - #10: awwwwww!

  15. There is not much worse in the world than overcooked pasta.

  16. Whitney... funny story... so last night Mark came home and he had picked up a belated wedding gift from some friends of his parents. So I open it and pull out this candle... it's a Votivo Red Currant candle!!! And i'm like, this is SO bizarre, because, after having never heard of it before, I know I read about this candle on someone's blog! So after researching, I found it on yours. Crazy, huh? So, now, I own one too. And I must say it smells pretty fabulous!

  18. I'm still cracking up about the Rachel Ray thing...hilarious!

  19. Great list! My sister drives me crazy when she talks to her husband when she's on the phone with me. I get mad and tell her! lol

I am very fair skinned and because of that people don't believe I am Italian. It gets me mad because there are a ton of fair skinned blondes in Italy!

The RR thing is so funny and strange! She's always making sexual innuendos and talks about her husband! lol

  20. I'm so bad about folding laundry. I will leave it in the dryer or just let it sit on the couch unfolded for days. It drives Ty mad!
Rachel Ray, a lesbian? You crack me up!

  21. oh my gosh! This was fabulous! I"m going to do this on my blog, however, I don't know if I can come up with 25 interesting things about myself!!! Favorites?... armpits, the turtle birthmark, eating milkduds with popcorn, and your skin color (which I think is beautiful, by the way!)! Thanks for being a celeb for a day! ;D

    ReplyDelete
  22. i think youre ivory skin is beautiful!!..how do you keep such a clear complexion?

    ReplyDelete
  23. I'm a pale redhead too. I use to hate it and was constantly told that I needed to "go tan" or even try a tanning bed (which I did actually try, with disastrous results). I literally can't tan... unless all my freckles join together.

As an adult I've learned to accept my pale skin, and *maybe* growing to like it :)

  24. I knew we were cyber-soulmates.

    Mexican food is my favorite.

I hate folding socks, but don't mind the towels so much.

Chris gets mad at me for throwing things away, too! Its not my fault he's a pack rat!

I love The Hills, but haven't watched The City. But I love Whitney the best. Always have.

My feet went from a 7 1/2 to an 8 after the baby.

I think "funny" movies are usually stupid.

My skin is pale, too. AND I LIKE IT!

    We're friends. Its official.

  25. How cute! Thanks for sharing - I may have to borrow this for one of my posts tomorrow or Friday. ;o)

  26. I can't BELIEVE how many of these I thought were describing me!!! Twins I tell ya! Twins.

  27. I think I only knew maybe five of these things about you. We need to spend time together. I had to google goucho pants and was relieved when I realized I don't own any. I don't understand number 6 - maybe there is a pill you could take for that or something. hahaha :)

    ReplyDelete
  28. I had to laugh when I read that you get scolded for throwing things away. I do the exact same thing. It must be a woman/wife thing! :-)

And, yes, my hubs scolds me too, playfully of course.

    ReplyDelete
  29. #23 is my favorite as it's true for me too. :-)

  30. Rock the pale skin! Both my cousin and I have red hair and fair skin and I completely agree tans would not look good. It would match our hair and not in a good way!

    ReplyDelete
  31. This made me laugh..several times!! I too have only kissed one boy =)
I've struggled with liking my white skin...probably b/c my nickname was "Casper" among others, during HS. My husband thinks it's beautiful though, so it's all good.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I don't like seafood either! It just doesn't smell appetizing at all.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I was just browsing and came across your blog - thought I'd just let you know that you have wonderful tastes in little boy's names :)

We have a little Levi, too. But he's only 11 days old.
