I got to meet my sweet tiny nephew today. He was the tiniest baby in the NICU, but one of the only ones NOT on oxygen! His little lungs are working just beautifully. Did I mention what a mighty God we serve?! I have no doubt in my mind he is doing so well because of all the prayers lifted up on his behalf.
What a blessed little boy.
He is doing so very well - especially considering his state. The nurses are just so surprised at how great he is doing right now. He is not "out of the woods" just yet, so your prayers are still cherished. Pray for continued health for this little love. We have complete faith that this child will lead a long, healthy and beautiful life. Praise be to GOD.
My brother is proud beyond words. Seeing him with his son is priceless. Hollie is still recovering from her c-section and is extremely exhausted, but she is doing just great as well. She just cries and cries when she talks about him. He is just the sweetest little thing.
A miracle baby.
Here is Hollie touching him for the first time. Taken tonight.

His diapers are MINISCULE. My gracious, they look like panty liners. I was floored when I saw them.

These pictures do not do justice for how TINY he is. I mean, he's TWO pounds. He is just itty. They also don't do justice for how beautiful he is. My little love - my precious nephew.
And it's official....Levi is now a giant. :)
*Cannot THANK YOU enough for your willingness to pray for Max, Luke and Hollie during this time. You just don't know what it means to me. And my entire family. You guys are such lovies.
he's absolutely beautiful. god is incredible and mysterious, isn't he?
ReplyDeleteHe looks like a tough little fighter with only a nasal cannula on his big 27-week self!! What a miracle! Proof positive that prayer works!
ReplyDeleteWhat a blessing you have on your hands. Thinking and Praying for you & family.
ReplyDeleteMighty Max!
God is good!!! what a tiny miracle! I will be sending more prayers for Max!
ReplyDeleteI can totally attest to the fact that the pictures do not show how little he is. My first baby was 1 lb. 9 ozs. and the pictures would make you think she was almost normal sized. it's weird. Well, good luck to max.
ReplyDeleteMax is so precious! It's so wonderful he's not on oxygen! GOD IS GOOD! My prayers continue for more miracles!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Carol
He is just precious!! I can't even imagine what 2 pounds must look like. I do have to say he is a little stud with that the nasal cannula!! Congrats again on that precious nephew! I will continue to pray for him to continue to be strong and grow, grow, grow!!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! He's gorgeous, and I am SO glad he's such a champ! "Miracle Max" - how PERFECT! I love it!!
ReplyDeleteHe is just beautiful!!! I would be so very happy to continue praying for the little man!
ReplyDeleteWhat an absolutely gorgeous baby! He may be little but he is a fighter I can tell! I'll keep him in my thoughts!
ReplyDeleteOh my. He is so tiny. I will continuing praying for him.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the pictures. Those diapers are crazy small. I can't wait to see Luke in the Daddy Role. What a wonderful thing for Hollie to get to touch him today. It makes me cry.
ReplyDeleteOh so tiny! Still praying!
ReplyDeleteHe is BEAUTIFUL. Prayers still headed their way.
ReplyDeleteWhat a precious little darling! So cute! Will continue with the prayers : )
ReplyDeleteThe picture of your sister-in-law touching little Max brought tears to my eyes. How amazing that his lungs are doing so well at such an early stage. I will continue to pray for Max and all your family.
ReplyDeleteHe is beautiful and he looks really good!
ReplyDeleteOne thing that I have seen some parents do in our unit is take a picture of their baby next to an object (similar to your diaper picture). It helps to give perspective to the size.
I am continuing to pray for him and the family.
Praise God!!
ReplyDeleteLevi is definitely a BIG cousin!
Max looks great! (And that's coming from a NICU nurse!)
ReplyDeleteI'll keep him and your family in my prayers, particularly that his little lungs continue to function, and that this is not just a "honeymoon" as we like to call it :) I know that God loves all of us ... but I like to think that He loves babies the most, and He's got Max covered. Hope things continue to go well :)
Also, may I add that I've thought Levi was a giant from the first time I read your blog... We NICU people get such a skewed perception of what "normal" size looks like!
So glad to hear he is doing well. :)
ReplyDeleteI has born 2 pounds in 1979 (giving away my age here) :o) Our God is a Great God and Max will come out the other side!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't think he could get any more precious! What a cute little peanut! Still prayin' and prayin' for ya girl! :)
ReplyDeleteA precious little miracle! Encouragement for me with a friend who is expecting twins and beginning very premature labor!
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOSH. He is just beautiful. What a miracle. THanks for the update. Keep them coming!

Oh my goodness!! Praise God!! My continued prayers are with your brother and his family - that God will continue to protect Max, to develop his body and grow him into the little one he needs to be so he can go home with his Mommy and Daddy.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this with us, Whitney. It's such a blessing to be a part of what God is doing in other places.
Oh Whitney ~ he's just so precious..thank you for sharing him with us. What miracles our God does...and I'll still be praying!
ReplyDeleteBig hugz,
Michele
He's a fighter for sure!!! God definitely works miracles!!! My best friend's little girl was born at 24 weeks and weighed 1 pound 7 ounces. She was no bigger than a dollar bill. After a long stay in the hospital they brought home a healthy baby that is now a 9 year old full of energy. Praying for Max and your family. XOXO
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, this brought tears to my eyes. I am amazed he isn't on oxygen--praise God for His goodness. That is truly a miracle.
ReplyDeleteMuch love and prayers (and tears!) to your brother and his family.
He is so precious! The pictures gave me goosebumps. I will be praying for him!
ReplyDeleteI'm crying just thinking how awesome our God is! What a beautiful blessing. Thank you Jesus for the miracle Maxwell is and will be.
ReplyDeleteMy prayers are still with you all!
What a sweetie! And those diapers! Oh, the diapers! :)
ReplyDeleteContinuing to pray for you all -
Yep, I got down to 1 lb. 6 oz. when I was in the NICU. My mom still has one of our diapers. Situations like this make you so incredibly thankful.
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited to hear how well he's doing.
oh my, max is SO sweet and precious! i can't believe he isn't on oxygen - what a little miracle! :) still praying for him and your family!
ReplyDeleteI am glad to hear he is doing well! I will continue praying and congrats to your brother and his wife!
ReplyDeleteWhat a tough little man!! And such a testament to the power of prayer. Contined prayers that he keeps improving!
ReplyDeleteAwww- Miracle Max is so handsome! God is good! Will continue to pray!
ReplyDeleteThese photos really got me. SOOO glad that Max is doing good! We had a baby 1lb. 11oz. born at 22 weeks. She only lived 7 min. I will pray for him and your family.
ReplyDeleteWhat a MIGHTY GOD we serve!! Such a small little baby, but what a big miracle!
ReplyDeleteGod is so GOOD! I was telling Ty the stats that Sarah A. posted on facebook (some acronym with 8&8) and he was so amazed. He truly is a little miracle! I couldn't tell how tiny he was until I saw Hollie's hands next to him and then those diapers. Oh my! I am so thankful for him and his health. I can't even imagine how you all feel. Still praying for a fast recovery for both Max and Hollie.
ReplyDeleteHe is just precious and those diapers, oh my goodness!
ReplyDeleteStill in my prayers! :)
