Levi, Stop Growing....And I Mean It!

If it's true that babies grow while they are sleeping, then I'm keeping my babe awake!!

Mr. Weebs is 3 months old. Although it seems like yesterday that I was in the hospital pushing my brains out, it also seems like he has been a part of our life forever. Sweet little Levi. He's such a lamb.

I know a lot of moms who always say, "if only he would start crawling" or "if only he could feed himself". I am always baffled when I hear this, because I am the polar opposite - to an extreme, I think. I remember his 5th day of life breaking down in tears because I didn't want him to get any bigger than he was right then. Of course, I find myself saying this every month, with each new change.

"Now Weebie, you stay RIGHT where you are for Mommy, okay? Don't get any bigger or any older, love, because right now you are just perfect!"

He doesn't listen very well.

Because he keeps growing.

I'm gonna ground him.

I always hear Moms say that every new stage they found to be their "favorite", and I can now fully understand that. When he was a wee one who just laid in my arms without moving and stared at me, it was my favorite, and I couldn't imagine anything better or sweeter. Now that he recognizes me and smiles even when I just look over at him, well, this if my favorite. He is learning new things every day. He discovered his hands and his toes a few weeks ago, and they just mesmerize him. He is giggling out loud at my ridiculous antics and he melts my heart with each coo and smile.

When he smiles his whole face lights up, just like his dad.

Husby has the worlds greatest smile. I'm serious, it's the best. It's big and cute and just wonderful. He even won "best smile" in High School, so that means it's the best. ;) It's a smile that will stop you dead in your tracks. And it's extremely contagious. I'm happy to say that Levi inherited it, and now I've got the two best smiles escorting me around. My boys are the best.

Well, it's time for me to get in the kitchen and scour recipes for "growth stunting" so that I can slip some in Levi's formula. Shhhh...Don't tell.
I am a modern day homemaker with a passion for family, cooking, celebrating, decorating, travel, and memory making! The Lord has blessed me with the desires of my heart in my husband and our two sons. We recently built our dream home and cultivating a loving and happy haven for my family is where I find so much joy.

  6. "He doesn't listen very well."...get used to that because it never changes and you might actually find a stage that is not your favorite. ; ) That is not true...every new stage is really my favorite. My daughter is 2 now and definitely not listening but she is so much sweeter during the other times.

  7. this time last year my son was 3 months...and you could lay him down on a blanket or a tummy time toy and he just sat there....now he's into everything, climbs the furniture and keeps us running!
Enjoy this time now because Levi will have you running before you know it!

  17. I know exactly what you mean. I can see how much my daughter has changed in her 6 short weeks of life and it's all going much too quickly. I think I'm much more keenly aware of how fast they grow, with Emma being my third child and my firstborn starting school next week. You are so right to savour each moment with Levi. They really do grow and change so quickly.

  18. I meant, much more keenly aware this time around. I don't think I'm any more aware of it than any other mother. We all know just how fast they grow! Just wanted to clarify my phrasing!

  19. Oh, they only get cuter and sweeter! Each new stage is a new way to learn and discover more about who God made your little baby to be.

Levi is so incredibly adorable! I LOVE that big chubby smile. So cute.

  21. I remember thinking the same thing about my sweet nephew who turns 3 tomorrow. I cannot imagine the urge for to him to stay a baby forever if I were his mother. Nonetheless Levi is so stinkin cute at every little stage!

  22. Whitney, little Levi is just adorable! But like Kenny Chesney's song says - "Don't Blink" because unfortunately, they DO grow up WAY TOO FAST! My 2 will be 16 this year - WOW - talk about time flying! Enjoy him as much as possible while he's little because they sure don't stay little for long. *sigh* Hugs, Trac~ :O)

  23. I feel the same way with each passing week, but my own little guy always displays one more glimpse into his budding personality each day which makes the growing up so exciting!

  24. Soo sweet..it does have the most precious smile! :)

  25. You said it perfectly! Although so did Reene, haha! I have a 2 year old and a 1 year old with another on the way and my 1 year old was a colic baby and to be perfectly honest all you want from colic babies is to grow up and out of it. I cant wait until your little one turns 2...as far as I can say right now its my favorite stage. The embarrassing things they say and the sweetest things they come up with, and the funny things to do that make you roll on the floor laughing, now that really melts your heart!
