7 Weeks

Dearest Little Lamb,

You are seven weeks old now and I can hardly believe the time is going so fast! I never realize how quickly you are growing until I look at pictures of your first few weeks of life and then I am blown away. Stop growing, I mean it. If you don't stop, you're grounded.

Last weekend, on Glam*Ma's birthday, you went to your very first movie! We all went to see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Glam*Ma wanted to hold you, so she put you in your sling and you talked the entire time!! She had to move up to the top row because of your sweet little voice. I, for one, preferred listening to you over the movie, but I'm not so sure every one else would. You are so very vocal for such a young age. It absolutely cracks me up. I think you will never be at a loss for words. You come by that honestly.

You are starting to discover things every day. You l-o-v-e your play gym and I have caught you several different times grabbing at and holding on to your toys! It amazes me every time, you Little Smartie Pants. I captured it with my camera once and with my phone another time. It's always with your left hand - I wonder if you'll be a leftie?

Daddy says you are ambidextrous until a certain age, so I guess we shall wait and see.

You have the sweetest little personality already. You are starting to recognize your Daddy and me, and it is the sweetest thing on earth. You smile at us more and more every day and each time, it melts our hearts! We sound and look like crazy people when you start smiling. You love when your Daddy gets home from work. You are so expressive with your face and you can tell that you are just crazy about him. He is crazy about you, too, Little Boy.

Here are some smiles Glam*Ma caught on her phone the other week. You started smiling AT us at 5 weeks, and you haven't stopped since. Little Love.

You are so cuddly, so sweet and so loving. You love to be held and love to be kissed. You grab on to my hair all the time these days. Actually, you grab on to everything - my hair, my shirt, your paci, even your bottle! You are just the sweetest thing in the world, my Lamb. I thank God for you all day, every day. My precious Little Weebie.

Love,
Mommy

  2. Yay for baby letters! It will be so fun for you to go back and read them and see how much your little man has grown and changed (and you, too!). Love it.

Okay, I just figured something out on my camera so I wanted to share it with you, too, in case you would find it helpful. You can adjust the white balance and set it to "Tungsten" setting, which will pull in the blues with your indoor shots, thus eliminating a lot of the yellow and orange effect that comes from not using a flash (I hate flashes). Your manual can show you how to do it. I thought you might like to know, since we both love taking pics of our little guys--and a lot of those pics are indoors!

  9. He is SO CUTE! You will love reading over these types of entries in the future...and so will Levi. I've always thought someone should offer a service to turn people's blogs into printed books for them. Wouldn't that be an awesome momento to have of your pregnancy, the early years with Levi...your whole life really?

  14. I Love reading all of your posts! My husband and I just had our 4th child 12 days ago and we are so completely in Love with her. I can hardly get anything done around the house because I just want to hold her and rub her sweet little head. I am savoring each and every moment that I can, they do grow so fast.

  16. You took your 7-week old to a movie theater? Harry Potter, no less? Unbelievable. Fail.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I agree. I took my 34 week fetus to see Harry Potter and had to leave because she was so startled and the theatre was so loud. Ever heard of A Clockwork Orange. Flashing those types of images and concepts at an infant leaves lasting marks. Murder? Betrayal? Really? Epic fail.
