Two Reveals.

Reveal #1:

No, No, No...No pictures of the nursery quite yet. I am sorry it has taken so long and I have tempted you with constant "The nursery is 99% done" and "Oh, the nursery is so cute!" While it is 99% finished, I am still waiting on two things. There is a light fixture en route to me as we speak that needs to be delivered and hung and I also need to get a rug for the floor. Other than that, it is ready to go!!

Since it has taken so long for me to post pictures, and since I talk about it a lot, I thought I would reveal to you what the "theme" is (if you have not already guessed by now).

When I found out that I was having a precious little gentleman, I scoured baby decor books and wasted most of my days pondering what the theme of his nursery should be. I didn't want something "cutesy" like cartoon characters. I didn't want something "typical" like the jungle. I wanted something classy. I wanted something sweet. I wanted something classic. I wanted something different.

One afternoon, my Mom, Husby and I were in an old bookstore on main street of a quaint little town. Husby darted to the Medical and Motorcycle books, and Mom and I browsed the children's books for "theme" ideas for Levi. We tossed around the idea of trains, cowboys, and cars, but I was not thrilled with any of those ideas. We kept looking and then I saw it.

The book of all books.

The book that stood out to me so much it was like it was screaming my name.

The book that helped transform Levi's room to what it is.

Beatrix Potter! You can not GET more classic than 19th Century England.

Her characters are so unique - so mischevious - so little boyish - so... perfect for Levi.

Peter Rabbit.

We purchased the book and began scheming up ideas for his room. We saw a "cutesy" Peter Rabbit nursery at Market months previous, but it was a little too frilly and fancy for a little boys room, so we improvised and I must say that it turned out far better than I even envisioned.

The room is perfect for a little gentleman. Perfect for a precious baby boy. Perfect for my little Prince. It just screams classic England and I can't wait to show you!

Reveal #2:

I have been working for months on writing out "Our Love Story" so that I can get it printed and bound for little Levi and our future children one day. I want them to always know the story of their parents and how we fell in love. I had a different website before this one and posted several chapters on there. A lot of people have since asked me to please finish the story! Well, it is almost finished now (wives of Medical Students have LOTS of free time in the evenings for things like this), and I thought I would start posting it for you all to read one chapter at a time.

The only thing is, I need you to know Husby's real name. Because he wasn't my Husby then.

So, I'm going to uncover his secret identity and just tell ya! His name is Darin. And he is wonderful.

I had a big picture of that cake with his name plastered on it last week, so if you didn't catch it by then, I don't know what to think. So now I can freely refer to him as Darin or Husby - whichever I so please. I figured you all know me and Levi's name, so why not throw Husby's in the mix? :)
I am a modern day homemaker with a passion for family, cooking, celebrating, decorating, travel, and memory making! The Lord has blessed me with the desires of my heart in my husband and our two sons. We recently built our dream home and cultivating a loving and happy haven for my family is where I find so much joy.

And your love story sounds like it's going to be adorable. I made a scrap book from when Paul and I were dating and our first year of marriage before kids came into the picture. I remember looking at my parents pre-kids albums and being so fascinated. Great idea!
