I'm not sure where to even begin. My life since last Thursday has been a complete whirlwind.
My Dad went to the Emergency Room that evening with some bizarre symptoms and pain. I left work immediately and went to be with him and the rest of my family. Note to self: When you are 32 weeks pregnant and walk into an ER, every, and I repeat, EVERY eye is on you. It's kind of fun. I was half tempted to grab my stomach and start screaming and wailing. Ya know, to give the people a show.
But I refrained.
My Dad was admitted to the hospital that night - the doctors believed there was a gall bladder or liver problem. He was bright orange and his eyes were yellow. It was scary. We were at the hospital every day and night since Thursday. I realized what great friends we have as a family. There were visitors and prayers constantly. He was finally released today though we do not have all of the test results back yet. He will likely have surgery next week to find the cause of the obstruction to the liver/gall bladder. Please say a prayer for him.
In other news....
*My very first baby shower is Tuesday evening. It will be so much fun and I am so grateful for my wonderful friends from Sunday School and Church who want to shower little Levi with blessings. Precious.
*My stomach has officially become the size of a watermelon. Or very close. Pictures to come!
*Levi's room is 99.9% finished. Um, it's my favorite room in the house. SO soothing. Pictures to come on that as well.
*Less than 8 weeks until I meet my little boy. According to my Doc, probably closer to 6 or 7.
*Powdered donuts are manna from Heaven.
Have a great Monday! :)

Sorry to hear about your dad, but I wanted you to know that I went through the SAME thing with my husband about 2 years ago. He was bright yellow/orange and his eyes were the same...with the pain as well. The outcome? He had to have his GallBladder removed and another procedure to remove some stones that made their way into his liver. Nothing too major, but it was scary. And of course, it took about a month for everything to pan out finally.
ReplyDeletei pray that everything is okay with your dad.
ReplyDeleteI have thought about and prayed for your sweet dad and your precious mom very often the last few days. I'm glad that he was able to go home, and I will continue to pray for his surgery and complete healing. Just a few more weeks...

I will definitely pray for him and the rest of your family. My uncle (dad's brother) was in the ICU for 2 weeks beginning about a month ago over his liver. It was such a scary waiting game and then while waiting some stuff came back about my dad's kidneys that hadn't been as good as the tests a few months ago... It was soooo hard. I was scared out of my whits! I wasn't even pregnant though, you are such a strong gal with a sense of humor through it all! I think it is so cute that you were pondering whether or not you would freak all those people out in the hospital. You're a trickster... I still remember April 1st ;)
ReplyDeleteCannot wait to see Levi's setup. I bet it is sooo cute!
Said a prayer for your Father..

So scary I know! My dad went thru that a few years ago and it was his gall bladder! It was so bad it was gangrene! He's great now that he had it taken out. I will be praying for your dad's health and fast recovery! You take care of yourself and so funny about you walking into the ER and everyone watching you! :D
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your Dad, but I'm glad that he has been released. Its always easier to recover when you are in your own bed, I think.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see nursery pictures! I spent the entire weekend in my new nursery just moving things around and basically just touching everything. Its the BEST! Can't wait till there's an actual BABY IN THERE!!!
