The other night, Husby and I were laying in bed making ridiculous jokes about something that seemed hilarious at the time. We slowly stopped our laughing, started to yawn and began to wind down. I scooted next to him and put my head on his shoulder.
“I’m scared”, I admitted.
He asked me what I was scared about and I told him my fears. My fears of labor and delivery. My fears of everything going smoothly and resulting in a healthy baby.
Husby has such a calming presence on me. He kissed my forehead and told me that everything was going to be just fine and that not to worry – he is going to be with me every step of the way.
Instantly, when he said that, I felt peace. I’m not doing this alone. I’m not doing ANY of this alone. I have the two biggest forces in the world helping me through this – my precious husband and my almighty God. What do I have to fear?
Isaiah 41:10 Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

Tomorrow I will post my Easter festivities, but I didn't have time to upload any of my pictures today. What a great weekend it was! :)

I LOVE Isaiah 41:10!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have that verse taped to my desk at work and have had it there since I had my surgery over a year ago. It brings me strength and comfort on a regular basis.
Your husband sounds like a good man. And you know you have Jesus right next to you always.
xoxo,
A
Hope you had a great Easter!.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you have two places of refuge. Actually, I have a feeling you could find refuge in several more places, too! It was wonderful to see and hug you yesterday. You look even more pregnant in living color. I love you.
ReplyDeleteSweet post. I love those moments of divine comfort :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's why God gives us wacky, worry wort women husbands. We'd go nuts psyching ourselves out over things we have no control over if they weren't there to calm us down. I swear I'd be in an institution by now if it weren't for my own husby.
ReplyDeleteAnd how blessed you are to have a husband that trusts in the Lord as much as you do!
Comforting husbands are just grand... as is God! :) Glad to hear your Easter weekend was great!
ReplyDeleteAnd, what power those two forces have! You'll do great!
ReplyDeleteYou'll do wonderful Whitney...with those two powerful forces beside you always.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a wonderful Easter!
Hugz,
Michele
Having Ty with me is going to be my comfort (and God!). The fact that he will actually know what is going on in the delivery room is very comforting!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see Easter pics! I bet Levi got an Easter basket from his Glamma....am I right??
That is one of the best things of marriage.. always having someone there! That is also the best thing about being a Christian, always having someone there. :0)
ReplyDeleteVery sweet post. BigNate has the same calm and reassuring ways for me. Such a blessing...
ReplyDeleteYou can do it, girly. At the end of pushing and delivery, I knew Josh had worked just as hard as I did. Sure, I pushed the baby out, but he had to stand there and comfort me and calm me and encourage me ... for 3 and half hours. That's no easy task. I couldn't have done it without him.
ReplyDeleteI think any normal woman fears childbirth! I'm excited for you though:)
ReplyDeletewhat a great post. Comforting husbands are the best:)
ReplyDeleteglad to know those fears are normal. and SO glad to know that the Lord is always with us! I don't know how I could make it through anything in life without Him!
ReplyDeleteI love this! My hubby calms me too. And of course, so does my Jesus!
ReplyDeleteI think God put our husbands in our lives to help calm us when we worry or are scared... I know lately I have been having some worrying, scared moments and Ryan just makes me realize that we will figure everything out perfectly! And I know you will too:)
ReplyDeleteHow sweet it is.
ReplyDeleteI too know the anticpation of waiting for a healthy baby. I was really really scared when Olivia was born but it was thru prayers and my husband that got me through it and she is my little miracle girl. I will pray the Lord continues to give you peace and a wonderful healthy little Levi! Love you friend
ReplyDeleteD sounds just like his daddy! They are both so precious and sweet, besides being men of God. How very blessed we are, Whit!!!!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet :) And a very encouraging verse. I can't wait to see pics of your Easter festivities!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you have someone to lean on. My husband was not very supportive of me and I was very alone with the pregnancy of all three of my kids. It's not fun doing it alone.
ReplyDeleteI made your Mexican chicken tonite.. It was delish! =)
ReplyDeleteIt was good to see you guys this weekend! Glad you got to rest together.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great verse...glad hubby calmed your fears! Everyone gets scared and I am so glad he and you could talk things through.
ReplyDelete~Elyse~
What a sweet D!
ReplyDeleteWhitney: God will be with you through every single pain and delivery. Once your baby Levi is in your hands you will begin to forget about all the pains and rejoice in your little perfect bundle of joy. "Cast ALL your fears upon HIM, for He cares for you."luv ya
