Meet Mr. Nephew.

Sorry I was MIA yesterday. I was a bit occupied.

This past weekend, we traveled to Nashville, Tennessee to see my brand new nephew. Husby's sister gave birth to a precious baby boy two weeks ago, and I finally got to meet him.

We left Friday at 12:30pm, and headed off!

While discussing where to eat supper, I suggested that since we were going through Memphis, it was only right that we eat some good ole Memphis barbeque! Husby laughed, since we had BBQ just two nights before when we were traveling to see my friends baby. We joked the whole weekend that our lives are inundated with barbeque and babies (we also had BBQ Saturday night - needless to say, we've had our fill)!

Of BBQ - not babies.

Just to make that clear.

I googled the ten best Memphis BBQ hot spots, and then realized that since it was Friday night, we would probably have to wait at all those joints. So we headed to the Neely's (from the Food Network) BBQ place! Honestly, it was just okay...but it was fun to say we ate there.

We rolled into Nashville about 11:30pm and I loved around on my cuddly little nephew.

And that is what we did all day Saturday as well.

Okay, okay, I'll share with you some of my favorite pictures of the little love button!!

(*WARNING* These don't really even scratch the surface of all the pictures I took of this little boy. Can you EVEN imagine what I will force upon you folks when little Levi arrives?? Um. Get ready is all I can say. Tee Hee Hee.)

I love this baby boy so so much.

Fearfully and wonderfully made.

Brother & Sister time. Awwww.... (Yes, that is the baby's mom on the couch - she does NOT look like she just had a baby!)

Husby and Brother-in-Law spent most of the day playing video games. Errrr...I mean, bonding.

This baby is one of the most expressive little people I have ever met.

Let me introduce you to The Many Faces of Des.

The Yawner.

The Strainer.

Contentment. Also known as - The "Whitney is my favorite Auntie and I love being in her arms" Face.

The "If You Take ONE MORE Picture Of Me, I'm Going To Wail."

The "I'll Show You and Go Back to Sleep..."

The Yawner II.

The Ornery.

The "You've GOT To Be Kidding Me".

The Confused.

The Flirt.

The Doody.

We left bright and early Sunday morning (at 8:30am) - hoping to be back home at 6:30, so we could have a relaxing evening at home before another crazy week.

Um.

Didn't happen.

We. Got. Stuck. In. Snow. Traffic. For. Hours. Upon. Hours.

And our 10 hour drive...turned into a 14 hour drive. That is NOT a happy thing for a 25 week preggy!

Whew. It was exhausting. We went straight to bed and woke up in time to head straight to work.

But we made it home and we had a fabulous first meeting with my little bitty nephew. I'd do it all over again in a heart beat.

  34. We went to Neely's last Sep. on our way home from Nashville to see my sis.! It was a Sun. night and the downtown one was closed so we went to the ghetto one but it was still pretty darn good. We like the dry rub ribs. Anyway, congrats on the nephew. They will have to move closer so he can be best friends with Levi!
