Dr Appt.

I never get sick of seeing my baby. It blows me away every single time!

This time was extremely special because my parents were on their way to the airport yesterday afternoon, so they both stopped in for my appointment. My dad never gets days off through the week, so it was just perfect timing. He had never seen an ultrasound in real life, since they didn't give them out so freely when my brother and I were in my mom's tummy. It was awesome to have my husband AND my Mom and Dad waving to little Levi.

Levi must have been overly excited by the attention because that little booger would NOT stop moving! He was flying around my uterus like it was outer space! He was definitely showing off for his grandparents. My Doctor was laughing at him because he was just all over the place, and it was hard to get good pictures. I saw a BRIEF shot of his face, and then he rolled over. He's being ornery already!

He is head up (breech) right now, but the Doctor says he has plenty of time to move. I don't blame him, though - I wouldn't want to hang upside down for 21 more weeks, either! Talk about a head rush. But please, baby, when it's time - please do a flip for Momma. K? Thanks.

He showed us his boy part time and again and there is no mistaking it! The only good shot we got the entire day was of his boy part. Little stinker. I would rather see his face!! The doctor said he is just gorgeous and measuring perfectly, praise God! He has two feet and two hands, and HOPEFULLY he doesn't have 7 toes on one foot like I dreamed the night before the U/S. I tried to count them, but he was too wiggly. My dreams are killing me, guys. So bizarre!

He weighs 9 ounces and I have gained a total of 5 pounds in 18.5 weeks.

What are some weird dreams that you had while pregnant?? Or if you've never been pregnant, what are any weird baby dreams you've had? I would love to hear....ya know, so that I feel a little more normal. :)
I am a modern day homemaker with a passion for family, cooking, celebrating, decorating, travel, and memory making! The Lord has blessed me with the desires of my heart in my husband and our two sons. We recently built our dream home and cultivating a loving and happy haven for my family is where I find so much joy.

  1. Everytime I was pregnant, I had dreams my Hubby was cheating on me. I mean REAL dreams where I would wake up broken hearted, bawling and PISSED! I could tell him the girls name and what she looked like down to her hair color (I've heard you don't dream in color. BS) It only happened while I was pregnant (thank God). My doc told me those dreams were very common. I actually dreaded going to sleep. And he wasn't cheating on me. I know that for sure.

  2. I'm up nursing my little one and decide to check on your blog and get to have a little walk down memory lane of all the crazy dreams I have had while pregnant.

Okay I'll just share one, When I was having our first I had read EVERYTHING about being pregnant and was stressing about all the symptoms and side effects. One being sensitive gums and such so of course I have this bizarre dream that as I am flossing my teeth one morning my gums just start shredding and falling out of my mouth in pieces into the sink.
    Pleasant? Not so much...

  3. Hi. I've just started 'following' your blog. Glad to hear everything is going to plan for Levi. Question.. how do you pronounce Levi?? I read it like the jeans, but you mentioned a few posts ago about it sounding like Lovie. So I'm just curious.

I don't have kids yet, but a few months ago I had a weird baby dream.. I dreamt, in a very real way, that somehow I had had a baby when I was about 12 years old and I had no memory of it. So in my dream I found out that I had a 13 year old daughter out there in the world. My dream ended before I got to see her. It felt so real and it made me want a child even more!

Dreams can be strange without help of crazy hormones so I can't imagine what your dreams must feel like!

  4. I have never been preggers but I have had several dreams about it. Usually, in my dreams, I am preggers but never get to the point of delivering the baby. I always wake up right as it is about to happen - ugh!

  6. I always dreamed that I would leave my baby everywhere. Like, for instance, I would get home from the grocery store and be putting away all of my groceries...and then it would dawn on me that I couldn't find my baby. I would search the house, the car, and then it would hit me that I had left the poor thing at the grocery store or somewhere. I would wake up in a PANIC!

    Sigh.....

For the first 3 months of his life, I was completely paranoid about it. But thankfully, I never "forgot" him anywhere. I don't think....Did I? Now that I'm turning 40 the old memory isn't what it used to be.;) (Just kidding!):)

    God Bless,
    Amy:)

  7. I am starting to have weird dreams, too. I've been dreaming a lot about my mom actually. I talk to her everyday, so I don't know what all these dream sequences are about, but she's always the one in my dream. Maybe unconsciously I miss her more right now because she lives far away and I'm pregnant...

    Hmm...

Glad your ultrasound went great. I had one yesterday, too, and it was just as exciting! Isn't the heart the coolest thing every?!?!

  8. Wow only 5 thus far; you are doing great.

What a great thing you...your parents both got to be there for the ultrasound.

I had a lot of crazy dreams when I was pregnant...I can't remember them all but some were weird.

  9. When I was pregnant with Noah, I dreamed that I gave birth to twins and one of them was made out of chocolate. The other was human, just tiny.

  10. I have weird dreams all the time, and all too frequently, i have scary dreams. I really work toward praying before I sleep that Satan won't have a stronghold on my mind while I'm asleep and it's really helpful. I dream a lot that like people are trying to kill me. it's really bizarre. As far as baby dreams, I remember once like years ago I dreamed i was pregnant with twins, not possible, but the dream was SO REAL and I had to like tell everyone I was pregnant. It was AWFUL!

  11. It is so normal to dream about the things we care most about, but in dreamland they get all twisted and not how we want them to be! Its so nice that you have your parents love & support through all of this..i'm sure your dad was in awe!

  12. I had a dream I was pregnant after a month of marriage and I totally flipped out! Then my sister in law had a dream I was pregnant then next month and it freaked me out! But no babies for us for another 2 years or so, haha.

  14. I have dreams every single night and I remember them soo vividly the next morning. I wish I had kept a dream journal. I have three recurring dreams...maybe each of these twice a month at least.

    1. I dream my teeth are falling out. Like, just crumbling to pieces and I have to chew so gently else they'll just fall out. And I'm so upset about it, but when I wake up, I'll literally feel around and make sure I have my teeth and I'm so relieved.

    2. Either I'm in college and I'm about to graduate but I get to the very end and I realize there was this whole class I completely missed the entire semester and I had forgotten I had registered for it. Or, they call me and tell me I have to come back to college because I forgot a class.

    3. I dream I had a baby, but it's so small nobody can find it. And it's running around and hiding from us (which is kinda creepy when you think about it). Or it's so small that I have to carry it around in just one hand...I'm talking like action figure small. It's so weird!

  15. How exciting!! I can't imagine how that felt to have everyone there seeing little Levi move around :)

  16. So exciting that your parents got to be there for that special moment!! Did you have weird dreams before you were preggo or did they just start?

  17. I can never remember my dreams, but I daydream about having twins and not knowing I was having 2 babies until it happened. I'm a weirdo who has a lot of time on her hands. I'm all about daydreaming!

  18. I would dream that Caleb came out as a little boy, not a baby. Weird. And, for some reason, my dreams never included the actual birthing process. Hmm ... maybe my brain was protecting me from things to come?? :) Caleb was breach, too, for a while. I hope Levi flips!

  19. I am 26 weeks prego and keep having these weird, sometimes violent dreams!

The other night I dreamed I built a fire in the middle of my living room with firewood and used a flint to start it! Then the next night, I dreamed a group of our friends killed a man and put him in a black garbage bag and buried him under some rocks on a remote farm. No dreams about baby Isaiah yet.....

I think I watch too much TV -- especially Survivor, 24, and CSI. :)

  20. My pregnancy dreams are vicious. Sometimes they're so bad I tell my husband that I don't want to talk about them. I'm 16 weeks today so you're 2.5 weeks ahead of me.

  21. I am with April on this one. I use to dream all the time the my hubby was cheating. It was so real and I too would wake feeling heart broken. I remember one morning I woke and I could not get over that feeling and ended up in a huge fight over my hubby "cheating". We both had a good laugh about it the next day.

  22. One of my girlfriends dreamed that she gave birth to a little kitty cat! :)

  23. I always had the dreams where my husband was leaving me or cheating on me. This is VERY normal for women to dream these things...so I've heard.
Also, lots and lots of sex dreams. I'm not trying to be explicit, just real. My hormones raged!!
I also dreamed that each one of my babies was the opposite sex that they really were.
You are normal, so don't worry.

  24. Right after my first was born I kept having this awful dream that I had her swaddled up in one arm and a piece of firewood in the other. Yep, you guessed it, I dreamed that I chucked her into the fire instead of the wood! It was AWFUL!

  25. I had the most vivid dream when I was pregnant that my baby was born without a nose. I remember feeling so confused yet protective of my baby. When the time came to have my first (and only) ultrasound I didn't want to know if I was having a boy or a girl, I just wanted to see its nose!

  26. I didn't have TOO many freaky dreams, but I did have one where my baby came out a cat and I was totally in love and didn't care if she had fur or meowed. I was pissed my husband bent it's tail to make it cry though.. and then I woke up. Weird.

The other weird one was when I was pregnant with my last kid and and I saw this pic of a perfect outline of a baby foot pushing against his mother's belly. (probably a hoax, but anyhow)

That night I had a dream that my very pushy child decided to stretch and ended up pushing her tiny foot through my belly. I was stunned looking at her tiny perfect foot sticking out of my belly and wondering if she was going to be ok and how to get the foot back inside.

And when I learned about spina bifida I freaked out and had a dream my baby had it. She didn't.

Those are the ones I can remember:)

  27. i bet each appt is so exciting!

:) it's kind of like webcamming with your Lovie Levi!

  28. No babies yet (heck, no marriage yet!) so no pregnancy stories, but I did want to mention that even if your little Levi had seven toes on one foot, he'd be just as capable and you'd still love him just as much! As a girl born with seven total toes, you can trust me on that one. But still, I hope that he is born with ten perfect little fingers and toes!!

  29. Never been pregnant but I have always been an avid dreamer. I've never had dreams about my babies, but about everyone elses babies. Usually when my friends get pregnant I have dreams about whether their child is a boy or girl. Unfortunately they aren't always right!

  31. I have lots of dreams where I am running SO late for something really important, and things just keep happening to get in my way.

I also dream that I'm still in college, and finals week rolls around....when I realize I was supposed to be showing up for a class that I never knew I was enrolled in all year! Ha!
