Girlfriends.

One of my favorite friends gave birth to the most beautiful baby girl last night. She is absolutely gorgeous! Praise the Lord for a healthy, lovely, little bundle of joy!

I was at the hospital until late last night, so I am a little foggy this morning. No matter how many times I sit at the hospital, awaiting the arrival of a friends precious baby, it never gets old. It is beyond exciting and completely emotional. It is an absolute JOY to be a part of.

Most of my friends are either pregnant or new mommies right now. So many, in fact, that husby stated last night that the hospital staff should know us by name now! It is so much fun to see them go through this experience. I know when it's time for me, I will have so many mommies to turn to for advice! (Heaven knows I'll need it. I am the girl with a thousand questions about everything!) Horray! :)

Another friend is struggling with breast cancer right now and it is just so humbling to see her attitude through this. She has an incredible spirit and is constantly praising the Lord through this trial. She is 25 years old and cancer was the last thing she ever thought would be an issue, but we are confident in our God who heals and restores. What would we do without Him?

It is crazy to sit back and look at the whole picture and to see how each of my friends lives are at completely different points right now. Some are having little lives growing in their bellies, some are first time moms experiencing new things every day, some are moving to new places and getting new jobs, some are struggling with sickness, some are getting married, and some remain the same, with nothing "big" going on right now. And yet, through every thing that each of them is going through right now - our God remains the same. Constant. Unchanging. Sovereign. Holy. Providing. Protecting. Comforting. Seeing. Delivering.

To see what God is doing in each of their lives and in completely different ways is just incredible to have the priviledge of being a part of. I thank the Lord for my beautiful friends, and the blessings that they constantly bring to my life. I am here to encourage, lift up, rejoice with and pray for - just like they always are for me.

Have a fantastic Thursday, and tell your friends just how special they are, today! :)
I am a modern day homemaker with a passion for family, cooking, celebrating, decorating, travel, and memory making! The Lord has blessed me with the desires of my heart in my husband and our two sons. We recently built our dream home and cultivating a loving and happy haven for my family is where I find so much joy.

  2. Great post - thanks for the reminder of all that our Lord is. When it comes to new life, I just have to sit back and say, "God, you are cool". The whole baby growing inside its mother is just a miracle to me in itself - praise God.

  8. Your friends are lucky to have you! I've found that differing life circumstances make it harder to stay close to each other. Good for you for sticking with all your friends, no matter where they're at!

  10. I couldn't agree more.

I think it's so important for each of us to take the time to praise the Lord for all of our blessings, and to show the people around us how special they are...

... it truly is the little things.

Congrats on your friends' new little one and prayers for your friend who is taking cancer head on.

  13. I think the combo is pretty good. I like the whole sweet and salty thing.. My favorite sweet and salty treat is peanut M&M's dropped down into a bag of microwave popcorn. Yummy.
