Well, I thought I would take a break from the "Grand Finale" portion of our vacation, and tell you all that today is my birthday.
Yay!!
I'm 25!
I love birthdays. They are so much fun and so different each year. Today promises to be a great one because so far, my morning has been very special and very sweet. I love my family and friends - they are hands down, the best.
My mom sent me an e-mail this morning telling all the details of the day I was born. She copied things out of my baby book and took pictures of things to show me. One of the pictures was this:

My feet!!
Initially, I thought, awww...my sweet little toesies.
And then I looked a little closer.
And realized....
these look like feet of a baby alien.
First of all, you may believe that I only have FOUR toes on my left foot. That is where you are wrong. I have 5. I promise. I do! I do! I swear! Wanna to come see? Don't put me in the circus just yet.
Secondly, it appears that I have "floating toes" with no connection to the foot. Now, as incredibly weird as that would be, fortunately it not true. My toes are connected in a major way contrary to popular belief....based on this picture.
And lastly - geeze louise, it looks like you could stick another toe in between my big toe and the other one on my right foot! Where did that gap come from??
And those creases look like the Grand Canyon! Wowza!!
Either the ink-stampin' guy was smokin' a little somethin' that day, or I've got some weirded out feet. Let's blame it on him.
I think I will excuse myself from work now and go stare at my feet. I should ink them now and show you guys all the changes that have taken place over the past 25 years. :)
Or not. Because that is freakish.
Okay, as bummer-ish as it to work on your birthday, I must get back slaving away. Ho hum.
I would now like to take this opportunity to let you, my dear friends and faithful readers, to wish me that happiest of birthdays and the bestest of wishes. Because I am the birthday girl. :)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MEEEEEEE!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MEEEEEEE!!!
Well, Happy Birthday! And don't worry, I think all baby footprints look that weird. It must be hard to get a squirmy newborn to cooperate with that process.
ReplyDeleteAwwwhh so sweet your footprints are! We are just about the same age! As my birthday is September 23. We are pretty close and I will be 25 also :) It is kinda scary being almost 30 huh? I remember when I used to think that 20 was so old. Now I have decided that old isn't till we are 70 lol!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday girl! Hope it is as Glamorous as you are!!
Ahhh...yes...25 was great. I just turned 31 and it only gets better! Hope you have a great birthday!
ReplyDeleteHappy Happy b-day!
ReplyDeleteYour baby toesies are cute! That's so funny though - you had valid points for each "alien"
have the greatest day ever almost twin with my hubby!
Once again, i feel super blessed to have met you on the wide world of web!
Happy day!!! My girls have some funny footprints I do think that it is normal.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, dear friend! And yes, I do believe there are more pressing things happening right after you're born to be too concerned about the quality foot stamp. Noah's is so light you can barely see it. Oh well, he's got 2feet with 5 toes each.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday - I will be turning 25 in Sept. and cannot believe I am going to be a quarter century old!! WOW Hope you have a special day!
ReplyDeletehappy birthday to you! hope you have a wonderful day today, get lots of great presents, eat lots of yummy cake, and have a wonderful celebration! 25 is a great age!

ReplyDeleteThat one toe on the right foot is WAAAAY out there. hahah I love it! Maybe it was the nurses first time with ink? :)
Happy Birthday! Thats so cute of your mom to send you such a special birthday email. Too cute! Just wanted you to know I love reading your blog and I can't wait to read what happens next on your Journey Toward the Glam Life!
ReplyDelete:) Happy Birthday!
I just ran across your blog from PW's. Happy birthday, first of all! Second, I was skimming through your previous posts and noticed you were in my neck of the woods recently! I work in downtown Seattle just a couple of blocks from Pike Place Market. How did you like it up here? I saw you went to Victoria, too, which is beautiful. Did you visit the Buschart Gardens (like I said, I skimmed the pictures and blog :))? I read your little "About Me" and I'm in the same boat as you! I can't wait to be a housewife and a mom - this work thing is just to hold us over until we decide to start a family. Can't happen soon enough! :) I'm glad I found your blog - I'm going to bookmark it.
ReplyDeleteOk, just kidding. Can't bookmark it - it says there isn't a feed detected for your blog. Weird!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! I wish I was at work today to celebrate with you. Oh, man 25--you are so old! :)
ReplyDeleteWhy can't I bookmark your blog on my page? I'm actually sad about that. Anyway, I was reading through your last post and how in the world did you not gain 500lbs on vacation? That food looked amazing. It made me hungry even though I just ate!
ReplyDeleteYou're right about Washington - it's a great state! I work on Pier 67 across the street from the Edgewater and I sit near a window so I get to see the cruise ships and barges pass in and out of the Sound. It's fantastic. And on mornings I ride the bus to work, I get to walk through Pike Place Market before any tourists are there. It puts me in a great mood.

That worked, thanks!
ReplyDeleteHappy Happy Birthday!!! You so made me laugh with your toes...lol! I hope you are having a grand day today and have fun celebrating!

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!! Hope you have a special celebration planned. I can't wait to hear about high tea!
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated!! All baby feet are cute no matter what! You're officially on your way to the big 30! It's not as bad as we all assumed it would be when we were 15and 30 seemed ancient!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! Don't worry, I actually only have two toes on my left feet, so you haven't seen baby alien feet yet!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful birthday; enjoy plenty of cake! :)
I hope you have your B-day crown on! Happy Day to you and best wishes all year!
