Life Right Now.

Little Ezra has been a part of our life for almost three weeks now, and in all honesty, I just don't know what we did without him! He is such a beautiful addition to our little family that I can't imagine it any other way than him here with us. He is such a little sweetheart, super laid back and oh so cuddly! I don't know how anyone gets anything done with a newborn because all I want to do is sit around and hold him. He is the snuggliest, most precious baby boy. We just feel blessed beyond measure for his little life and that the Lord entrusted us with him. What a JOY!

(This is how I spend a LOT of my time. Can't help it. Soaking it up - this time, I KNOW how fast it goes!)

We feel that we are kind of in the swing of things now. I think that it's easier to adjust with the second baby ... at least it's been that way for us. Things just have seemed to fall into place quicker, and it's not such a shock to our system. Well, waking up throughout the night is ALWAYS a shock to the system, but besides that, we're good. ;) He is actually sleeping really well. He wakes up, gobbles down his bottle and goes right back to sleep. He actually went 4.5 hours the other night and I woke up in a panic and fed him. I'm not a rational thinker at 4am. I joke that I never know what day it is, but always know what time it is.

(At the doctor!)

He's been on several outings since his arrival. Lots of restaurants, doctor's appointments (mine and his), Target, baby stores and boutiques, a dinosaur exhibit (for big brother and cousin ... Ezra slept through it), to have his picture taken by a friend needing newborn photo experience, and several other places.

Levi is still enthralled with his baby brother. It's really just precious. Husby and I feel like the moment we came home with the baby, Levi turned into a big boy. And really, he did. He started doing things on his own initiative and has become super independent. "I can do it by myself" is a phrase we hear several hundred times a day. Give or take. But he's just grown up so much and is doing such a great job in his new role of big brother. He is super protective over Ezra and so, so sweet with him. He can't walk by him without stopping to give him a kiss. Makes my heart explode!! Oh, how I love my babies.

I told Husby the other day that my Facebook feed has been nothing but pictures of Levi and Ezra for three solid weeks and he laughed and said, "well, what else have you done for three solid weeks"? Ha! Good point. My boys are my days in and my days out. And I wouldn't have it any other way!
I am a modern day homemaker with a passion for family, cooking, celebrating, decorating, travel, and memory making! The Lord has blessed me with the desires of my heart in my husband and our two sons. We recently built our dream home and cultivating a loving and happy haven for my family is where I find so much joy.

  7. First of all, I love your blog, and though I don't know you personally, I enjoy reading about your sweet little family. :)

I wanted to comment mostly because my son did just as Levi is doing when he became a big brother. The day after we were home from the hospital was the first time ever he completely dressed himself, by himself. I will never forget the tears flowing as I realized he really was a big boy now. He also loves his sister so much and is such a big helper. Seeing our first child become a big brother is definitely top on my list of favorite life moments. :)

  11. I have to ask, things seem "perfect" in a sense with all this transition your family has gone through, are there any hard moments? Are there times when you are just so tired you can't think straight, or you are more aware of your own sin through exhaustion? I struggled alot with being tired when I had my son. I felt like a zombie at times and now with my second one due in June, I can't imagine things being easier but the way you describe things sure seem to be. Is it this common for all families to transition with no trouble at all? Maybe I need to set my expectations a little higher with how simple you make it all sound...or is there a secret you are holding back? So glad you had such a safe and healthy labor and delivery, your boys are just precious!!
