The Fair!

You guys know my love and devotion to our State Fair. It is one of the highlights of my every October, and this year did not disappoint. Usually, Husby and I go solely for the yummy food and booth browsing. This year, out little bundle of two-year-old energy made it even more fun because everything was so new to him! We didn't end up eating near as much as we usually do and did a lot more activities/fun stuff than we ever do. My, how children change things. :)

Levi had a ball.

We visited a butterfly exhibit and Weebie just loved it. He held as many as he could and just giggled so much. He was great with them!

He got to visit a firetruck, a police car and an ambulance. He saw that police car and literally took off running for it. He started shoving kids over and knocking them out of his way so he could get in there. We were dying because Levi never acts that way and it was just so funny. Of course, we did a lot of apologizing. Kid loves police cars ... apparently.

He also got stickers from each place and that went over wonderfully with him. He was decked out in gold stickers galore!

He played a fun game and won a big prize - a BATMAN! He loved it and was beaming!

We noshed on lots of delicious treats on the way.

Cheese on a stick is one of my favorites!

And of course, the corn on the cob that Levi wanted nothing to do with.

The best thing of the night were the fried mini donuts. They were piping hot, smothered in sugar and absolutely delectable!

Husby enjoyed a polish sausage and the smell was TOO MUCH! I snuck a few bites. (Please, please, please, don't give my lysteria!)

Levi's favorite thing were the Dip-N-Dots.

We also visited the petting zoo and all of those pictures are on my good camera (these are all from my phone). I haven't uploaded them yet, so I don't know if we got any good ones. But Levi had such a good time feeding the pets and he even rode a horsey!

So much fun!

We had his picture taken with these bunnies and a little tiny baby goat, but the goat jumped off the hay right before the picture. He was so cute!

Isn't he just precious? He had SUCH a fun day.

But then, had even more fun that evening when my parents met up with us and took him and cousin Maxwell to see Disney on Ice: Toy Story!! He. Loved. It.

WOODY!

BUZZ!

Levi never took his eyes off of the ice for two solid hours. Both of the boys were in a trance.

photo-14

Guess who spoiled them with every treat and goody imaginable?

These boys were in hog heaven!

By the end of the two hours, they were so tired (it was almost 10pm!), but they both fought through the sleepies and saw it to it's finish!

He woke up talking about this morning. :)

It was a wonderful day and just so much fun! I will cherish these moments and great autumn days spent with my boys forever. They are the delight of my soul and they make my life an absolute dream come true.

  1. Roasted corn and Polish sausages are my favorite fair foods too! You should be okay with the Listeria business - if the lunch meat/hot dogs are heated up to the proper temperatures it kills it. It's the cold stuff you have to be afraid of!

  2. Just precious! And jeepers, I didn't know the listeria thing stretched to sausage, I thought it was just lunch meat! Glad I have been warned (and glad I chose bacon with all my breakfasts this weekend! haha) I hope you're feeling better, little mama! xo

  3. I think that properly heating the meat to 160 kills listeria. I ate really well heated sausage when I was preggo.
