It was a surreal day to see my husband graduate Medical School. Surreal, emotional, overwhelming and INCREDIBLE!
My Dad (Doctor of Pharmacy) got to hood Husby and my sister-in-law (they graduated together!!), and it was such a moving moment. I don't have pictures of it because I was videoing it! We are going to order the professional pictures that were taken. Yay!
I can't describe how special it was!
Here is my family with my brother and his family. So awesome to journey through these four years together! We've been through so much!
My family has been an enormous support system for us during these years. We could never thank them for all they have done - from the abundant prayers to the surprise grocery drop off's, rescuing me during Husby's mega-study days to whisking the whole family away for vacations, they have blessed us abundantly, and encouraged us every step of the way!
Husby's family, of course, was also a part of our huge support system! We are just so blessed to have so many people cover our lives in prayer. We could not survive without those prayers! They were always eager and willing to jump in and help with whatever we had going on and scooped up Levi for babysitting countless times so we could have dates! Our lives would be 100X's harder without our families.
At 2:00, the day of graduation, Husby and several other classmates took part in the Christian Oath Ceremony, organized by Husby! He was the President of the Christian Medical and Dental Association during Medical School, and had several responsibilities including this. It was so, so special.
It was at one of the most beautiful churches I have ever seen in the United States. Just gorgeous!!
It was a rare occasion for me to be with both of my sisters-in-law in one day!
I was worried about how Levi would be during the days events, but he was actually pretty good. We only had a few incidents during the Christian Oath Ceremony, (he screamed out, "Uh-Oh, It BROKE!"), and during the graduation, when he wasn't screaming "GO DADDY! GO PAPAPA! GO HOLLIE!", he was doing this:
Mom and I before the ceremony began.
It was a great day, full of lots of cheering, laughing and crying.
Praise the Lord, Medical School is OVER!

The next day, Husby's parents threw an awesome party for both him and Hollie. So special!!
I only got a few picture of the people there, but I had to include this one of D and one of his best friends.
The medical doctor and the lawyer. What a pair!
Husby's parents put a ton of work in to the day, and it was so much fun!
They even wore scrubs to the occasion. ;)
What an amazing accomplishment!! A very big congratulations to your sweet little family.

Congratulations to your husband! What an exciting, eventful time for your family.
ReplyDeleteA friend whose husband is a doctor had a cute little poem framed on her son's nursery wall that talked about how the "MD" after the baby's father's name stood for "My Daddy." It was really sweet. You might have seen it before, but I thought I'd mention it (that baby is now 20 years old!).
Glad your summer is off to a good start. Happy Birthday to Levi, too!
