Tuesday Tidbits.

I have several thoughts flowing through my brain, none of which deserve a total post dedicated solely to them. Today I will spew them out on the world wide web for you to pilfer through. Take what you want, leave what you don't and have a happy Tuesday!

* Call me old fashioned, but I simply can not read books on an electronic device. I can read blogs, recipes and other sites of interest, but if I'm going to read a book, I have to have pages to turn and paper to feel.

* I think I need my tonsils taken out. I get sore throats far too often. Also, my immune system is shot. I catch everything going around.

* My nephew Maxwell turns ONE this week! Can you believe it?

* Bible study starts up today and I can't wait! We will be studying the Fruit of the Spirit.

* I am fully prepared for Satan to come in with guns a' blazing trying to trip me up with my love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. I've already noticed his attempts this week.

* Sometimes I get annoyed with Facebook & Twitter. I feel like people say things on there they would never say face to face. And that bothers me. (Not to me specifically - just in general.)

* I had a dream last night that my favorite pizza place in NYC opened up a branch just a few miles from my house. I was devastated when I walked in and it was a "limited menu" and they didn't serve my favorite thing. It was like a happy nightmare.

* The other day we bought a box of cereal that had been opened. I plan on taking it back. I've never had to take back a food item before ... I wonder what will happen.

* Husby has a booming voice. It's just naturally loud. I often think, "I don't think I could talk that loud if I tried." Sometimes when we're in the car together, I ask him if he could bring it down a few notches because he's hurting my ears. HA!! And then other times, he brings it down a few notches on his own and then says, "man, I was screaming, wasn't I?" He makes me laugh.

* I think if we all esteemed and valued others as higher than ourselves, the world would be such a peaceful place. My Mom is so good at this. She's about the only one I can think of that consistently puts others before herself. Always.

* Honest Just Black Tea is the best tea on earth. I can only find it at Whole Foods, so I stock up when I'm there.

* I'm such an old woman to be talking about the weather, but can I just stop for a minute and say "HALLELUJAH!" for the cool temperatures creeping in? Crisp air makes life 10X's better.

* I ordered Weebie's Halloween costume last week and it just arrived. I am so excited!

* It is very quiet in my house.

* I have so much to do before my Fall Yard Sale. Hometown peeps, get ready! October 9!

Any Tuesday Tidbits running through your mind today? Let's hear em!
I am a modern day homemaker with a passion for family, cooking, celebrating, decorating, travel, and memory making! The Lord has blessed me with the desires of my heart in my husband and our two sons. We recently built our dream home and cultivating a loving and happy haven for my family is where I find so much joy.

  1. Great tidbits! :) I just love your blog so much. I've commented before, but my husband just finished his residency, and I have a 19 month old daughter. So we have a lot in common!

Have a great rest of the week!

  2. I agree with the Fbook comment. People have no manners when it comes to that site.

I've returned food before..not a problem. They will just throw it away b/c they can't re sell it.

    Happy Tuesday!!

  3. Love them.
I agree with the facebook thing totally.

Could it be allergies with your throat and immune system?

    Happy Birthday to your nephew.

  4. I'm loud, just like your hubsy! My family reminds me regularly to take it down a few notches...

  5. I love your list! I completely identify with wondering if you could talk as loud as your husband if you tried. I feel the same way! And he's always telling me that I mumble... lol Oh well. Blessings on your day, amiga! :)

  6. I loved reading your tidbits. :) I'm totally with you on the reading a book thing. I like holding it in my hands and seeing how far I've read and how far I have to go.

My tidbit of the day: Sudafed Sinus is my miracle drug of choice.

Have a great day, and Happy Birthday to Maxwell!

  7. I'm thinking I need to try that tea! Do you like all kinds of tea? I like some teas, but not all of them. If you are picky with your tea, I would probably like the tea you like. :)

  8. Oh my word, my husband is the SAME way! I always say, "Hunny...you're kind of yelling..." HAHHAA!!!

  9. Fun tidbits! My husband's a loud talker too! I feel bad shushing him all the time =/. It is especially bad in the car, haha. he was in the military, maybe that’s where his loudness comes from.
Wow, Max is one! YAY, man time flies!

  10. Don't worry about taking food back! Once, we got a steak, and when we opened it and turned it over, it was GREEN. DISGUSTING. Anyway, we took it back, thinking there would be a battle, and the store was so horrified that they both re-reimbursed what we paid AND gave us a new one. They sure won a loyal customer.

  11. ditto to the books and social networking. i love the smell of the paper in the books :) and people will say things on fb or twitter because they feel strong behind a computer. the entire idea is just ridiculous.

  12. Oh my, my husband has such a booming voice too! I'm always teasing him about yelling "in my good ear!" :)

  13. speaking of taking a food item back, the other day i bought a head of fresh garlic and used it immediately when i got back home. lo and behold, it was moldy inside! ew. i took it back and they let me pick out a new one. i was hesitant to open it, but it was mold-free...something i tend to like when it comes to food i buy :)

  14. Fruits of the Spirit sounds like a fun bible study! Our small groups are just starting back again too, and we're doing lessons on parenting! And I'm totally with you on the book, feeling the paper when you're reading makes the experience a hundred times better!

  15. I am one of those that TOTALLY thought they would hate a an E-Reader too but I got the new Kindle for my birthday and its Awesome. It seriously looks like a real book in black and white. My husband got it for me because our bookshelf is out of control and I don't like going to the library.

  16. I cannot believe that little Maxwell will be 1!! That means that I have been reading your blog for over a year and have never commented!

Also my husband is the same! He talks so loud all the time. He also has to have the TV at an ear defening level. :)

  17. How far is your husby in Med School?.. My fiance is a first year and everyone warned us it would be hard and it has!
What is Weebie going to be for Halloween?

  18. Great tidbits! It's funny that you don't like reading on an electronic device, but don't mind recipes. I'm just the opposite. I love to read from Stanza on my iPhone but I can't stand looking at recipes on my phone. Probably because I'm a messy cook that splatters things a lot! :)

  19. I just have to comment on one thing: you know where D gets his "booming" voice? ME! That's the only good thing about Happy losing his hearing. Now he doesn't tell me to quiet down. :)

  20. I'm an old-fashioned girl too- nothing compares to the heft of a book and turning the pages, monitoring how much you still have left along the way. I also prefer CDs to mp3s. I know I'm in the minority on that one!

  21. I had to return a box of poptarts that had been opened the other day. The lady working the counter kind of looked at me funny, but she refunded my money. It was definitely kind of awkward though.
