9 Months.

Park-13

Little Levi is 9 months old. Well, in reality he is 9 months old, but since he was born on the 30th of the month and February doesn't have 30 days, I like to pretend that he's skipping an entire month and staying 8 months old forever. Hush, it makes me feel better.

He floors me with the new things that he masters each and every day. He stands and cruises along the furniture as if he's been doing it all of his life. We bought him (well, Glam*Ma bought it, but I helped pick it out - thanks, Glam*ma!) a little shopping cart toy so that he could learn to push and walk with it on his own. Let me tell you, he took to it like a champ! He flies around with that thing around like he's on Supermarket Sweeps! It is the funniest thing. I know that he will be walking by himself before we know it. He's so close!

He eats three meals a day with formula through the day as needed. He absolutely loves to self feed, so I give him puffs and yogurt melts so he can go to town on 'em. I also give him little bites of green beans, tomatoes, carrots - basically whatever vegetable we are eating. He'd much rather feed himself than us do it, but of course, we feed him the majority of his baby food and then let him experiment with other little foods. He also loves his sippy cups!

His little personality continues to develop and make us laugh. He is so FUNNY. He fake coughs to get people's attention and his facial expressions kill me. The other day, I found him ripping up a magazine that he grabbed off the coffee table and I said, "Levi Alan!" and he purposely looked at the TV and squinted his eyes as if he didn't hear me and was SO interested in The Rachael Ray Show. It was SO funny! I couldn't believe he was playing me like that...silly boy. He has the sweetest little disposition. I can wag him around all day running errands and meeting people for lunch and even if he misses a nap, he continues to smile and quietly rub his eyes. He's just so SWEET.

He takes two naps a day, sometimes just one long one. His morning nap lasts around 40 minutes and his afternoon nap is usually an hour and a half to two. He sleeps from 9 pm to 9 am (give or take an hour each way), and usually wakes up around 5 am for a pacifier or just for some comfort. I often toss him in bed with me when he does that and we get some good cuddle time in. I love it. (Cuddles are becoming harder and harder to get from my active bebe!)

Levi claps and waves when HE wants to, but usually not when I want him to. When teaching him where his eyes, nose and mouth are, several times he has pointed to his eyes! He stands on his head when he gets sleepy and that's a cue that it's time for a nap. He will carry on a conversation with you by squealing and waiting for you to squeal back.

Mom and Dad SWEAR that he said "Glam*Ma" the other day, but I was not there to hear it. Mom picked him up and said, "It's Glam*Ma, it's really Glam*Ma!", and he said "Glam*Ma". Mom gasped and Dad turned around and said "What did he just say???" We can't get him to say it again, but they relish in the fact that besides "Hi", he said "Glam*Ma" first. Oh Weebie, what have you done? Remember me? The lady who BIRTHED you? MOMMY. MOM-MEEE. SAY IT!

He loves going to nursery at Church and seeing his little friends. Between Church on Sunday and Bible Study on Tuesday, he feels quite at home in the nursery. He has only cried one time when I dropped him off (BROKE my heart), but now I think he has grasped the concept that I always come back, so he spends the time enjoying himself and playing with his buddies. But the look on his face when I pop in the door to pick him up is priceless!!! I love him.

We had to "baby proof" our house a few weekends ago, because he would come up missing when I would go in the other room to finish up a chore. He also became infatuated with the outlets, so we took that as a cue to set up some traps for the little baby. Poor honey stands at the gates if I happen to be on the other side of it doing something and looks at me like he's in prison. We have to block off the kitchen and the entry hall because it's all tile and he's constantly standing and dropping and I fear for his little head.

I swear I want him to wear a helmet.

He stops dead in his tracks when American Idol is on, loves for me to count to ten, is mesmerized by the alphabet and laughs out loud when I bang my hand on the table (and he bangs his right back).

He is developing and changing right before my very eyes and I can hardly believe it. It's crazy to think that he has now been out of my tummy longer than he was in it.

Oh, how we cherish our little boy. He is our treasure.
