My Funny Valentine.

We had a fabulous Valentine weekend. I was covered in treats and goodies from those I love and that love me, too. Husby and I had a romantic night out on Saturday and savored every moment of our last Valentine's Day as a family of 2. :)

Here are some pictures from the festivities!

Mom had cupcakes sent to me at work on Friday. Look how CUTE! And they were deeeelicious!

She also had these cookies from Eleni's in New York City, sent to our house. LOOK HOW ADORABLE.

They were almost too precious to eat! I said almost.

And here is a look at my desk at work! I was literally SWIMMING in flowers! It smelled like a flower shop, no lie. I got 2 bouquets and Levi (spoiled already by his Glamma) got his very own bouquet with this cute bunny attached!

(Ignore that big black quilt hanging in front of the window. They are auctioning it off and it's up there for display.)

So presh! After a staff meeting that we had that day, we made Valentines! This is what I made for Husby:

On Valentine's morning, I woke up early and made Husby a big ole country breakfast.

Um. The breakfast was really delicious - biscuits, gravy, sausage and scrambled eggs, but...it was my first time making homemade biscuits. I didn't have self-rising flour, so I used all-purpose. Big mistake. They were flat as pancakes!!! It didn't really make a difference though with gravy poured all over them, but they made us laugh so hard. Here is a pic of our leftover biscuits.

AHHHH, hahahahahahahaha!!!!

BUT, the cute plates totally made up for the funny looking breakfast. :)

We went out that evening for dinner and a movie. But my back got the best of us and we ended up renting a movie and watching it sprawled out on our comfy couch. It was a fabulous weekend....can you tell that this is one of my favorite holidays?! I LOVE IT!

I'll leave you with a video and pictures of the V*Day dinner I made for Husby LAST YEAR! I didn't have quite the energy this weekend to pull that off again.

Last year he got a three course dinner. This year... flat biscuits and gravy. Next year? Probably some Gerber Fruit Medley baby food.

;)

Hope you had a fabulous day-o-LOVE!

  12. As you know we were all sick on Valentines day so I'm hoping to make up for it this coming week. I love Valentines day it is the best day ever.
Just a hint if you dont have self rising flour just add 1 1/2 ts of baking powder to every cup of flour. That always works for me.

  22. ha - I just watched that video. It was really funny because no one was talking, but you could tell that someone was walking around with the camera trying to be all quiet and sneaky. It made me laugh - everything looked super cute, but the comedic value of the video was pretty great.
