We have had a wonderful holiday season!  The moments are so sweet with children - seeing them start to truly grasp the meaning of Christmas, while still captivated with the magic of it all.  I cherish these days! We had a busy month.  Full in every sense of the word.  Full in time, full in heart.

Things are winding down now as we finally user the cold air in.  We took down decorations today and got our house back in order, and it's been raining a solid 3 days in our area.  We are nearing 10 inches of rain in our town, while a neighboring town is reaching 15.  It's made for a picturesque time of hibernating in our home together as a family, recuperating from the holiday season.

As sad as I always am to see the tree come down, it also gives me a sense of relief.  I feel refreshed ... like a new beginning is on the horizon.  Makes sense since the new year is upon us.  I guess I equate putting the past year away with the holiday decor.  2015 was a fabulous year for us and our family experienced God in enormous ways.  I'm ready and excited to see the sovereignty of God played out in in our lives in another year! He is so very good.

I sincerely hope that you all had a blessed Christmas, and have a beautiful new year.

XOXO!

I am a modern day homemaker with a passion for family, cooking, celebrating, decorating, travel, and memory making! The Lord has blessed me with the desires of my heart in my husband and our two sons. We recently built our dream home and cultivating a loving and happy haven for my family is where I find so much joy.

  2. I don't have instagram, so I have to wait for your posts! Like you, this morning I spent several hours putting every.single.Christmas item away. I sort everything before boxing things up and putting them in the attic. I took 2 boxes of stuff to a thrift store--stuff we didn't use. So now everything is ready for next year. I love Christmas, but I also love to have it over. The happiest of New Year's to you and your family!

  3. Hi Whitney -- will your mom's beautiful home be making an appearance on your blog this year? I looking forward to seeing what theme she chose for her celebration. Hope you all stay safe and Happy New Year!
