A Very Vintage Christmas!

My mom puts so much thought into every single detail of Christmas, and every year has a "theme". This year, it was Vintage Christmas! It was absolutely incredible. The table was bedecked with every retro toy that you could ever remember, along with old candies and other goodies. It was just to die for!!

The dishes were even vintage! Take a look at how adorable!! This is only one scene from one plate, but they were all similar to this and just darling.

To top the table off, every guests party favor was a stocking FULL of vintage toys like a slinky, silly putty, paddle ball, jacks, cards, etc. I'm just amazed by what she comes up with!

We were set to have 25 guests on Christmas Eve. Unfortunately, a massive ice/snow storm moved into our area and drowned the grounds in treacherous traveling conditions, but a gorgeous White Christmas for those of us snuggled in safely. Because of the storm, no one could make it to our celebration, so the ones of us who were already there (me, Husby, Levi, my brother, his wife, Maxwell, and my grandma - plus mom and dad) celebrated together! Mom fixed the most elaborate feast for just the few of us and we continued our traditions by having a beautiful evening together. I kind of hated it for Mom though because she put SO MUCH thought, time, effort and money into this table, and no one could show up to enjoy it. But we definitely enjoyed it. And had so much fun playing with all of the toys. It was just too cute for words. Truly!

Mom, your hard work did NOT go unnoticed!! And I know that if you KNEW it was just going to be the 9 of us, you still would have created the same masterpiece. Because, that's just who you are....always making everyone feel like a King and Queen.

Also, every lady who was set to come to Christmas Eve was going to receive one of these gorgeous baskets that Mom created!

It was filled with all kinds of kitchen goodies! A gingerbread man rolling pin, vintage inspired aprons from Anthropologie, and also the cutest measuring spoons from there as well. There was a set of dessert plates and a cute mug, dessert mixes, bowls and a bread pan. It was AMAZING!

My parents trees are beautiful. First, we have the big elegant one that sits in the formal living room. It is breathtaking, really.

And then there is the traditional Old World tree in the den. This one is spectacular. It puts me in a magical Christmas trance every time I lay eyes on it.

Just beautiful!!

Here are some other pretties that are scattered around the living room.

This table represents our Savior. The reason for Christmas!!

The day that we arrived, this was what greeted us on the bed:

This was Levi's tree. It was just precious. Every ornament on there was nursery rhyme characters!! So sweet!! (And under the tree was a Little People Nativity!)

This tree was set up in one of the bathrooms for all of us to enjoy!

It was filled with shampoos, soaps, body washes, cleansers, moisturizers, lotions, etc. This tree is incredible! :)

Mom outdid herself, as I say every year. When you walk into her home, you are greeted with the aroma of pure sweetness, your eyes are dancing with the sparkly sights in front of you, and you are blanketed with the warmest feeling of love. No one ever wants to leave her house. It is the epitome of relaxation and the feeling of being "welcome" in every way. This was a beautiful intimate Christmas. One that I will never forget.

Your mom should have her own show on HGTV. Or at the very least, she should have an article written about her in a magazine or something. She is amazing! The vintage tree and amazing centerpiece on that table was unbelievable!!! The trees were stunning and I love all the love and care she puts into everything to make you all feel so at home and welcome.

I always wondered where your great style came from and NOW I see! Can your Mom please do a guest post? I am really interested in if/how she plans such great parties without spending her entire savings? I would love to shower people with blessings and hospitality, beauty and warmth when they come over but have no idea how to do it without spending my bank on them.
