Hodge Podge.

I have a few things that I wanted to share with you, and since none of them really relate to one another, I'm giving you a hodge podge post! I love that word. Hodge Podge. I guess it's really two words, right? Regardless, I love it. I like Mod Podge, too.

1. MAX

Mister Maxwell is doing absolutely wonderful! His nasal cannula is off (as you can see) and he is eating from a bottle! He is breathing just great and is eating like a champ. And guess what? We got word this week that he will be COMING HOME in the FEW DAYS!!!!!!!! Can you believe it?! Praise GOD! I will keep everyone updated with him as I find more out.

2. Blogging is beneficial. I blog because I love it. It's fun. Recently, I have been contacted by several different companies to review their products and blog about them. Because of all of this merchandise being sent to me, I opened a P.O. Box in a neighboring city (so that no one can stalk and murder me) and I can freely hand out my addy to these companies. So if you guys would prefer snail mail as opposed to e-mail, I'll send you my mailing information if you contact me at glamlifehousewife@gmail.com. But keep your e-mails coming! I truly enjoy corresponding with you fun people. Oh, and I will be doing my first official review next week!

3. Levi is 5 months old. This tragedy happened on Oct. 30. I say it's a tragedy, simply because he is growing up too fast and it hurts my heart. However, each new stage and each new month is absolutely better and more exciting than the last. I can not get enough of this little guy. He is the delight of my soul.

4. I can't wait for Christmas.

5. I ordered some breathable bumper pads for Levi's crib. The bumper pads in there now are so thick and puffy that I constantly worry he is going to move and be in such a deep sleep that he won't think to turn his head. So though these bumper pads are not cute, they are safe. And I will promptly shove them in the closet when company comes and put the puffy pretty ones back in place. I'm living a lie.

6. Husby started his CORE Clinical Rotations this month. These rotations last for 4 solid months and they are pretty brutal. All at the hospital, early mornings, late nights and lots of weekends. I am not excited about it, but what I am excited about is that he is home this month and not away from us. And I am excited that he is settling in on a decision on what he wants to do (what type of Doctor he wants to be), and that we are at perfect peace with it. God is starting to open so many doors concerning our future and I am just thrilled. How exciting!!

7. Life is good. Life is really, really good.

And...a video!

(Please ignore my couch. I was in the middle of a big laundry day and was in the midst of folding. Ugh. And also ignore my voice. Signing to a baby in a baby voice is hard.)

And here is the background story to the video. When Levi was 2 months old, I made this song up for him. It's his absolute favorite song in all the world. He can be in the worst of moods and throwing a giant fit, and as soon as I sing this, he stops crying and starts smiling. It just cracks us UP all the time. I can sing other songs to him but none get the effect that this one days.

For example....

I am a modern day homemaker with a passion for family, cooking, celebrating, decorating, travel, and memory making! The Lord has blessed me with the desires of my heart in my husband and our two sons. We recently built our dream home and cultivating a loving and happy haven for my family is where I find so much joy.

  1. That is so sweet! He loves Momma's voice. I always sing to my girls when they're upset...sometimes something silly, sometimes something soothing...but it always gets them happy again. God's greatest tool for calming our children and we don't even have to pay for it :)

  3. That's so funny. I was just remembering the other day that my oldest would do that with the ABCs. She would scream and scream, but the minute I would sing the alphabet song, she was silent. It's amazing to see their little personalities and preferences at such a young age!

  8. Hey - yes, I do! I work in the worship ministry full time at FBC in downtown Tulsa. I love it! What are their names? I wonder why little Max hasn't been on our prayer list - are they members? We pray for people in the hospital.... I don't see his name on the prayer list. That's fun! Hey I'm also going to Kitchen Queens this month. Lindsey invited me - I am very excited!
