A Baby Update.

So.

If I suddenly disappear from the bloggy world, check my Twitter sidebar and see if I've gone into labor.

I went to the doctor yesterday and my blood pressure was all over the place. They took it 3 times and it was very high the first two times and then normal the last time. They want me to come back tomorrow and Tuesday so they can monitor it (they're closed Monday), and then on Wednesday she will "check me" and see if my body is at a place where he could come, and if so - they will induce soon. If my body is not ready, we may do a c-section to get him out sooner - especially if my BP is still high.

I am 37 weeks tomorrow and Levi weighs 8 pounds even. W-o-w. They do not want him getting too big and they don't want my BP getting too high. So, we could have a baby here very very soon, but I should know more definitively on Wednesday what the plan is.

My doctor knows that Husby is a 3rd year Medical Student, so she gave him orders to monitor my BP and to give her a call if he gets concerned. I can not tell you how COMFORTING it is to have Husby around. Knowing that he knows what he is doing, what is happening and that he can check my blood pressure at any time of any day is amazing and gives me such peace of mind. I have my own personal doctor here at home.

I often beg him to break out the kitchen knife and give me a c-section.

He never complies.

Anyway, that is what is new with me and Levi. He's so gifted - he was taking practice breaths on the Ultrasound today....so SWEET. That baby is ready to meet his Momma.

I was told to "take it easy". I guess all the work I've done this week doesn't fall into that category. Hmmm. But I'm so glad it's done!

  6. Hey Sweet friend. Please know that I am praying for you! I am sitting here at my desk remembering the first time you ever told me your dream was to be a mom(um we were in high school). If I remember correctly my teenage self laughed at your teenage self(I'm sorry okay). I just didn't have a clue Whitney Dawn! Since then I have had the chance to see where God has brought you. And I am overjoyed for you! Thank you for being my friend. Thank you for being an example of a Godly woman! I love you and cannot wait to see Levi!

  8. Praying for you!!!

We have similar situations going on. :) I'm at 37.2 weeks now and baby boy weighs 8 pounds even! :)

He has turned into proper position, so I may have to push that big little guy out. You know I was secretly hoping for a c-section. So we'll see how it goes.

Take it easy and keep that BP low. Sit around and let people wait on you. I start that tomorrow and can't wait!

  17. If the doctors told you to take it easy, do it. I've had friends who didn't, and their babies came much too early.

Enjoy the time you have to yourself these last few days.

  21. Hi Whit,
I just discovered your blog yesterday and have aldready read back to the first post! That's how much I like it! I thought I'd leave you a comment and say "hi" now since it seems like any day Levi will show up, and then who knows how long it will be until you can get back into a blogging routine. I would also like to say thank you, since you have inspired me to start writing on my blog again. We'll just see how long this round lasts... ;) Oh by the way, I'm pretty sure I have figured out which state you live in using the clues you left in the question and answer post, plus some other clues taken from other posts. I promise I'm not a stalker, lol, it just because a game last night between me and my boyfriend trying to figure it out. I was up till 2am! I won't post what I think it is here, as you seems to want to keep it private for understandable reasons, I just wish I knew if I was right!

  24. Hey Whitney -- Hope you're doing well and enjoying these last few days! We love your nursery. We at the Baby Cove were wondering if we could profile it on www.thebabycove.com -- a few pics and details and then link to you? Please let me know if that would be OK - info@thebabycove.com. Thanks!
