Preparation.

Okay. So I am going to have this baby soon. There are many things that I need to accomplish before he does come.

1. Finish the nursery. It was so close to being picture ready and then I had two showers and now there are gifts strewn about all over the place. I have got to get in there and organize/situate everything.

2. Assemble multiple things. Actually, Husby needs to do this because I don’t know a bolt from a screw. And I thought a “washer” accompanied a dryer? Anyway, he needs to assemble the Arm’s Reach Co-Sleeper (bassinet), the swing, the bouncer, etc.

3. Write Thank-You’s. I know time will be limited when the little Lovie comes, so I need to get these written and mailed within the next couple of weeks. Feel free to send me an ice pack for my hand. And donations for stamps. K? Thanks.

4. Pack my bags. Oh my goodness, I can’t believe I haven’t done this yet! I think I will do that this weekend. In my Childbirth Class, she gave me a list of things I might want to bring. One, being music/cd’s for labor. I begged Husby if Levi could make his grand entrance to “MMMBop”, but he quickly put the nix on that idea. I mean seriously, is there a happier song to enter the world to? I think not. ;)

5. Scrub. Wash. Scrub. Wash. Scrub. I believe we call this “nesting”.

6. Sleep. When you are a working pregnant lady, you are never rested. 6:30am comes entirely too early in the morning and 5:00pm comes entirely too slow. It’s a vicious cycle that gives me puffy eyes to match my puffy ankles.

7. Mount Car Seat. Yet again, another task for Husby. I can totally see us completely forgetting the thing and the hospital banning me from bringing home my baby. Preparation is necessary.

I am a month away from giving birth to my little butter ball. I can’t believe it at all, and I can hardly wait!!

  2. Babies are truely a blessing from God. They grow up so fast. Enjoy every minute of it because you will never get that time back. Good luck & God bless.

  3. A month away - wow that went fast! I am sure you will be 100% prepared in no time!

  4. I cannot believe it is so close now. It just seems like it went so quickly. You will get everything done. Wish I was there to help but ugh-I'm a working girl, too!

  5. It's so exciting!! I love it! I remembering hunkering down and putting together everything for Caleb--the pack 'n play, the stroller, shelves, swing ... how did I end up with that job when I was hugely pregnant?? You are wise to have D do it! Get all the rest you can, girl. You deserve it. And don't stress with the thank-yous ... people understand if they're a bit late!!

  6. Here is my gift to you- you don't have to write me a thank you note! Although I know how important they are to some people, I really couldn't care less. So, now you save 40 cents! Also, if you call 494-SAFE they will tell you when the local car seat installation days are. D might know how to do it properly, but if not they are very helpful. Something like 80% are in wrong. They do them on Saturdays, too. Enjoy the anticipation of your upcoming baby!

  7. YOu are definitely nesting! The nesting stage with me lasted a good 2 months. I was in a frenzy trying to make everything PERFECT!

  8. Come on, D! Let Levi enter the world with mmmmBop! Whit, you should totally play the preggo card on that one! ; ) I, too, can't believe how close we (I'm sure, like I really have anything to do with it) are getting. AHHH!! Fun, fun! Can't wait to get that call and drive in from LR!!! I love Levi so much. And you too!!

  9. I know that in our area if you go to your local fire department they will put your car seat in the car or at least check it to make sure that it is in the car properly! Might want to consider doing that so that little Levi is in there safely! :-)

Good luck with tackling the items on your list!

  10. So exciting! Yes, there is A LOT to do.. but I have no doubt that you will not be 100% prepared! ((and I think you should sneak in the Hansen CD))

  11. Wow...did time fly or what!? I can't wait for little Levi to arrive...but then...I'm sure you can't either!

    Hugz,

  14. only 1 more month! that's plenty of time to complete your list of things to get done :)

  15. Speaking from someone who waited too long to pack the bags-get that bag packed ASAP. You don't want to be like me and have to make a list while you're in labor to have someone go to your house and get your stuff because when you say things like, "Get the cute pink (or blue in your case) outfit from the baby's closet they will not have a clue which one you are talking about. I spent the day I went into labor (unexpectedly) making a cute name plate to tape to Gracie's little hospital bed. It was something fun and crafty to do when I needed to nest.

  16. I seriously can't believe it is only a month away! Crazy! I feel like it has flown by! I think entering the world to mmmbop sounds ideal. Why do our husbands not share our love for the greatness that is Hanson?

  17. I packed my hospital bag...last night! eeeeeeeep!

I'm so proud of you for still working, you must be SO TIRED!

  18. Wow! I can't believe little Levi will be here in a month! How exciting!

  19. You have a lot to do lady! You should just bring your thank you cards to work and do them here. Think of all the time you have just sitting.

  20. So exciting! I can hardly wait to see pics of the nursery. And I laughed out loud at the MmmBop reference. What better way to greet Levi than with his mama's favorite group???

  21. It's overwhelming thinking of all the things to do before baby comes.

My sister and her husband put the carseat in their car already even though the baby isn't due for another 3 weeks. At least they know they won't forget it!

  22. ba duba dop.....That should totally be his entrance song! Very happy. :) You made my day with that. Can't believe you're so close. Time flys. Anxious to see nursery pictures. Good luck on knocking some of the tasks out this weekend. Bless.

  23. I love, love, love my arms reach co-sleeper. It was a life saver in the first few months. We now use it in the bathroom as a movable changing table so we do not have to leave the bathroom for diapering and p.j.ing. You will love this product!!!

  24. Gosh girl, a month away! How incredibly exciting!!! Here's to hoping that things get checked off your list.

  25. oh, oh, the countdown is ON! I've been working like an ox lately and MUST. SLOW. DOWN. because I'm due on Saturday, I need my energy for the work ahead!

Oh, it's so exciting waiting for labor to begin...it's a beautiful moment in time when you realize, "um, I think that was my first real contraction!!" SO. AMAZING!!!!

    Happy nesting!!!

    ReplyDelete
  26. I basically just copied and pasted your list onto a Word document and it is now MY to do list, too! Don't worry, I'm two weeks ahead of you (I think, right?) and I haven't packed either. What does one wear to bring a human into the world?!?!?!?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Wow! I can't believe it's only A MONTH away!

No worries--you'll get it done :-)

I'm glad hear your dad is doing well!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Oh my goodness! You are going to be a mommy! It hit me today.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Wow. Is it just me or does it just seem like you were just telling us you were pregnant?!? And now you're only a month away!! You seem pretty organized so I'm sure you'll get everything done in time!!!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I want to nest! Can I get an early start on my nesting even if I'm not gonna have a baby for a couple years?

I have a question for you. Where do you find all your cute and unique dinnerware?

    ReplyDelete
  31. I'm not sure how I got here - I was click-wandering (aka, eavesblogging). But...now I'm a tiny bit in love with your blog! I had our first child between my hubby's 3rd and 4th years of med school. He's now a 2nd year resident, and our second child just turned 1! It's a wild and crazy time, but awesome.

AND, I adore Beatrix Potter - that's how we decorated my daughter's nursery. I love the pics from your shower!

Okay, I won't gush. Just wanted to say hi! Best of luck resting/prepping/packing/etc in this last month before your little one's arrival! What a joy. :o)
