Irony in Prayer.

Yesterday afternoon as I was changing Weebie's diaper, I prayed a little prayer over him aloud.

"God, thank you for Levi's little kidneys - that they work properly. Thank you for his health."

At this point Levi started wiggling, flipping and flopping and trying to take off crawling (changing the diaper of a Boy On The Move is near impossible).

I continued praying aloud, "God, thank you for a baby who is active. Thank you for his interest, his curiosity...."

And by golly as soon as the word "curiosity" escaped my mouth, Levi twisted and lunged for his used (tinkle-soaked) diaper. His hand landed right in it as he picked it up, waved it in the air and smiled at me.

"Thank you, God, for little Levi's sense of humor.

Amen."

  1. and Amen. What a sweet little Momma you are. Isn't it awesome that we can have confidence that the Lord hears our prayers, large or small. I'm encouraged.

  2. Thank you God for your sense of humor!

One of my good friends was reading the bible one day and randomly started laughing out loud, under her breath she chuckled "I love God's sense of humor."

Now that I have a daughter I remember daily that "God is a comedian playing to an audience who is afraid to laugh" -Voltaire I'm glad that Weebie brings you so many smiles.
